Overheard in cafeteria
I was sitting in the cafeteria of a government building when I overheard several lawyers discussing their cases. (The sound carries so I could clearly hear their discussions, in spite of them sitting 10 to 20ft away. Talk about embarrassing subjects ...)
The one conversation that made me cringe was when one attorney says to the other, "And so I was going to law school at night ... blah, blah, blah, then I had an affair with someone at work, got a divorce, and after taking the bar I'm accused of practicing law without a license. Turns out my ex turned me in."
What caught my attention was that he sounded proud about having the affair, since his ex later snitched on him. I was so uncomfortable I ended up going for a walk around the building.
