Just received my first phone scam call

Well, first call that I'm 100% certain is a scam and that wasn't a pre-recording for a timeshare or something similar.

The fact someone called at 7am local time is a bit odd, so I picked up the phone assuming it was my mother (she's the only one that calls me *this* early in the morning).

Someone with an Indian accent tells me he's calling about an error message from Windows on my computer. Surprised, I ask him to repeat what he just said. I pause just long enough to consider, "Do I ask him for the name of my computer on the network to confirm he has the right one?" And tempting as it is to have some fun at his expense, I'm too lazy to do so at this hour, so I ask him to please not call me back.

It did remind me of this article on Ars Technica, which is good for a chuckle.

But seriously, I'm sure scammers do this because they catch enough people to make it worth their time.
