Time-outs, Transformations, and Three Days Grace

Ok, Ok. Time out. When did I become this guy? This apathetic, motivation-less, couch potato? (Ok, to be fair, the couch potato thing has pretty much always been true, but I blame my mom for that. ;) )

Well, believe, you, me... that is about to change. I just went for a run, and ended up listening to the entire One-X album by Three Days Grace.  They are one of my favorite bands of all time.  A lot of the message across the entirety of this album comes from Adam Gauntier's personal battle with prescription drugs, and his experiences in rehab and fighting this addiction.  However, I believe a lot of his personal struggles can be translated into anyone's life; into any struggle.  "Your bottle's almost empty; you know you can't go on. Because of you my mind is always racing." There are things that we need to let go of, but just can't bring ourselves to do it. We know we can't keep living like this: with the lies or the destructive behaviors, but we can't stop thinking about it. "It's all over." Give it to God and LET IT BE. You CAN leave it behind you, IF YOU REALLY WANT TO.

I have decided that I am going to start exercising more often, because, I've found, I have much more energy, and I'm in a much better mood after I do.  I just ran (not much mind you; I'm still working back into it) and I feel like I can take on the world right now. It's an amazing feeling.  I'm actually going to list all the things that benefit me, personally, from running.

~Get into shape (a shape other than round; gotta be dead sexy for da ladies ;) )
~Keep my heart healthy (always a plus)
~Build up breath support (for singing)
~Warm up throat/vocal cords (works wonders)
~Increase endorphins (better mood)
~Get more energy (like a BOSS)
~Listen to good music ;) (ooooh, yeah!)

I feel like, as long as I can keep this motivation to exercise, I will have more motivation to do other things. Like, practice. And otherwise be productive. haha. Um. Yeah, bye.
