Warning for crack and weirdness!

Previous Chapter.

The lack of sleep is evident the next morning and when Ryo puts his bag down next to Yamapi's, the first sentence he gets from Yamapi that morning makes it clear that not only does he feel tired, but he also looks the part.

“You look like crap. Didn't sleep much?” When the seemingly unharmful question is followed by a suggestive eyebrow-wriggle it suddenly isn't so innocent anymore and if Ryo wouldn't have been too tired to care he might have reacted more flushed, since at least his thoughts of the previous night hadn't been exactly innocent.

“Pi, you're an ass.” It's at times like these it's nice to already be known as a jerk. It makes it so much easier not to care about the consequences when everyone already expects you to snap at them. For some reason however, his best friend does not seem to reply, which is quite odd. Ryo turns around and comes face to face with NEWS' official leader. Still he said nothing, Yamapi simply kept staring at him, evaluating the osakan carefully. Not very surprisingly Ryo got fed up with having the taller man eying him with his face only inches away from his own. “What?”

“I was only joking with you, but you know Ryo-chan... I think I just might have hit the jackpot. ” Now how do you react in a situation like this? You can't just speak up and spill that actually, yes I'm tired because I stayed up watching one of my other best friends sleep. One of my other male friends none the less. No, no matter how close he was to Yamapi he wasn't just gonna admit his gay crush like that. Oh God no... He just referred to Ohkura as... No, no, NO! This can't go on any further.

“Whatever you're thinking you're wrong. I just had a hard time sleeping that's all. Now if you excuse me, I believe we have a job to do?”

Yamapi just gives his friend a look as the shorter man walks out of the small room, knowing very well when it's time to back off after years of friendship. There had just been something about Ryo, he couldn't quite put his finger on it but there had definitely been something. And whatever it was it made him curious, but since there is nothing he can do in this situation he will simply have to wait and hope that Ryo will come to him sooner or later. Like he always does.

Ryo feels a little guilty for acting so angry towards Yamapi and when lunch comes around he think he might as well try to apologize. Or at least ensure the other that he really isn't angry at him. So he takes his bento and sits down next to Yamapi in the small cafeteria. Clearing his throat to announce his presence. “Ehm.”

Yamapi who has several servings of rice stuffed inside his mouth looks up, taking a break from his eating to meet Ryo's eyes. “Mmh?”

His cheek feels a little itchy and he reaches up to scratch it. Now was the moment, but he suddenly feels a little shy and in stead of telling that his friend that he was sorry something completely different is blurted out.

“What if your friend acted like a dog?” Yamapi gives him a questioning look and Ryo feels the need to look away, but he steadies himself and manages not to.

“I- I mean, hypothetically, what if someone you knew was acting like a dog? Or rather, if he thought he was a dog, like for real... Like he forgot that he was a human, I mean IF something like that happened to someone. What would you do?” The man across the table swallows as he keeps his eyes on Ryo.

“Ryo-chan?” It seemed his rambling wasn't getting through. Not very surprising, he didn't even make any sense to himself.

“It's nothing... I was just curious.” Ryo looks away now, feeling his heart race. What if Yamapi suspects something? Had he gone too far in asking? He really should just have kept his mouth shut after all.

Yamapi smiled, knowing this was his friend's attempt to apologize. Even though it was a strange way of doing it, even for Ryo, he decided to play along. “Well, I don't know Ryo-chan. That sounds like some weird type off hypnosis to me.”

* * *

The rest of the day seems to drag on forever and Ryo can't concentrate on the photo shoots and interview questions, he even gets asked by the woman from Popolo if he's alright. Maybe he's not, because all he can think about is the possibility of Yamapi's words from earlier that day being true. Unexpectedly help had come from his unknowing friend and now all he wants to do is to get home and see if there might be anything behind this new theory.

For hours he waits, imagining the sad and lonely face of Ohkura when he ultimately had had to leave him this morning. Hoping that he had found the right answer and that by this time tomorrow Ohkura would be back working again. Happily playing his drums and stealing Maru's food just like any other day.

So when the staff tells him he's done and is free to go, after one of the worst and longest work days in his whole career, Ryo wastes no time to get home.

It's strange. He saw the younger man just this morning, but he can't recall ever missing him so much as he has today. It's a little scary really, and he's not sure if it's because he's excited, worried or because having the other man so close has made some really weird feelings to surface again. Feelings that lurk around only to flare up occasionally. But he doesn't dare think further, he's already walking on thin ice, the last thing he wants is for his friendship with Ohkura to crumble. So for now, he pushes the weirdness aside, like he always has.

When he finally enters his apartment he is almost as happy to see Ohkura as the drummer is to see him.

Almost.

Ohkura's whole body is shaking as he wiggles back and forth, and Ryo is pretty sure that if the younger had a tale it would be moving pretty fiercely. He hunch down to meet him more properly, greeting him with a happy voice as he receives licks and snuggle in return for his petting. “Hello Tadayoshi! Hi! Yosh, good boy.”

Smiling happily he lets Ohkura ravish him and even though he knows he shouldn't he can't help but enjoy the warmth of the man over him that is completely overjoyed to have him back home, especially if this is his last chance to do so. For a few minutes they play like this, probably imitating the actions of a real dog and it's owner pretty well, until Ryo is too exhausted to continue. He collapses to the floor and just lies there breathing heavily with his eyes closed. A goofy smile crowns his features and when he feels a body lying down beside him he automatically lets his hand stroke over the head that is nudging his side. Ryo smiles but it quickly fades as he remembers that this moment is a bad thing. Something he shouldn't be doing, and certainly not enjoy so much. Suddenly his mood turns gloomy, but still he remains on the floor, still his hand moving gently over Ohkura's soft hair.

He needs to know weather Tadayoshi really is hypnotized or not, but how do you know stuff like that anyway? The answer refuses to reveal itself to him and he just stays there close to the body beside him, doing his best to come up with anything.

Only when his back starts to complain from lying on the hard surface for too long he gets up. Leaving Ohkura who has since long fallen asleep. He doesn't know what to do, it's too early to start on dinner and he doesn't feel like going out and obviously his brain won't help him with his problem at the moment. So instead he just paces around the apartment, all to often finding himself back in front of his sleeping friend.

This is not good, he tries to tell himself as he stops to watch Ohkura for the umpteenth time. It's only been roughly a day since he got his new 'pet' and already he can feel a clench at his heart of the thought of being alone in his apartment again. Having Ohkura here permanently is something he has thought about on more than one occasion, if yet under other circumstances. Which more or less means Ohkura being here with him like now but not acting like a dog. Once again his mind wonder out on deep water and Ryo takes a deep breathe and decides to clean the apartment to waste time as well as block out his dangerous brain.

It doesn't help and his mind keeps spinning with thoughts of the younger man. The minutes pass and even though he knows it's not right of him to enjoy that his friend still thinks he's a dog Ryo can't help himself from doing it anyway. Thoughts are flying through his head with the speed of light as he tries to think of some kind of plan, but nothing comes to mind. Why isn't he more panicked by this whole mess? He doesn't know, maybe he's still convinced that this is just a temporary thing. In any case if it so happens that this won't get solved soon he'll have to tell the others, and Johnny-san for that matter. Somehow he decides to worry then, first he'll give it some time. At least he has to do his best on the hypnosis idea first. Yes, he tells himself as he watches Ohkura sleep from a distance, he'll panic later. For now just taking care of Ohkura is enough.

* * *

A few hours later he has dinner done and calls for Ohkura to come eat. “Tadayoshi!”

Using the younger man's first name had proved the most efficient and Ryo could already feel the name roll off his tongue comfortably. He calls one more time, a little louder than the first try.

Really, how long and how heavy can that man sleep anyway Ryo manages to wonder before an eager and obviously hungry Tacchon stops before his feet. Just like the day before Ohkura requires quite the amount of food to get satisfied, but at least he's prepared this time, cooking a lot from the very beginning.

He enjoys his own meal as he watches Ohkura eat through the corner of his eye. Then the phone suddenly rings, resulting in the unprepared singer to flinch. Ryo picks up his phone and sees on his caller-ID that it's Jin who's disturbing him in his meal, before he answers in a gruff voice. “What?”

“That's it? No; Hi Jin! Long time no see! I miss you?” Ryo sighs into the phone, talking with Jin is something he doesn't have the patience for at the moment. Is it really too much to ask to have some peace? Needless to say his voice is not very enthusiastic when he replies. “Hi Bakanishi, what do you want?”

“Oh, I'm going out later tonight, thought you might wanna join?” The idiot sounds really excited about it and Ryo considers the offer. It's true that he hasn't seen his friend in a while, but he doesn't want to leave Ohkura home alone more than necessary and he has at least one thing to try before he gives up trying on his own. Jin will have to wait. He itches his eyebrow as he declines, actually feeling a little guilty. “I'm sorry, not tonight.”

“Eeeh~? Why not? It's been ages!” It really is typical for Jin to start whine as things don't go as he has planned, but this time Ryo won't give in. At least he's starting to get better at handling whining thanks to Ohkura.

“Another time, I promise.” And with that he hangs up, because that way he doesn't have to come up with another false excuse.

Ryo takes a deep breath and picks up his chopsticks to resume his dinner, but as he looks down there is nothing left on the table. He blinks dumbly and looks around as if the food would pop up out of the blue any second. Then he sees the plate on the floor, licked completely clean, and Ohkura looking at him, smiling with food all over his face and shirt, not the least bit ashamed of himself.

At first he's about to scold the drummer for stealing his food, but when he sees that curious happy face he decides against it. What's done is done anyway, he'll just have to be more careful from now on. Instead he reaches for a towel and dries the sauce off Ohkura's face. Living with a man as your pet is really messy... He tries to be annoyed, but he already knows that he really doesn't mind that much as long as the man creating the mess is Ohkura.

As he sits there on the floor with Ohkura practically in his lap Ryo decides to try his only plan so far. Simply to un-hypnotize his canine friend.

He picks up a spoon from the floor and starts to sway it back and forth in front of the younger man's face. Repeating his words with a slow and monotone voice. “You are a human. You are a human. Your name is Ohkura Tadayoshi and you are a man. Not a dog. A man...”

With the man in his lap being very unresponsive Ryo was just about ready to give up when his friend's eyes suddenly got really focused and starts to follow his movement as he continues on talking. A feeling of excitement fills him as Ohkura keeps his eyes on the spoon, barely blinking. In his mind Ryo almost screams about how it is working, he stops his hand and is just about to ask the drummer if he is back when said person stretches his neck and lets out his long tongue to lick a spot on the spoon that still has some very tempting sauce on it.

He gets so disappointed that he falls backwards from his hunching position to straight on his butt. The spoon gets dropped as well and when his friend is done with it he gives Ryo a quick lick in thanks too. Ryo should have known, only food would call for the attention of their group's glutton like that, it seemed not everything had changed between human Ohkura and Tadayoshi the dog.

Sighing Ryo gets up and decides to hit the bed early after finishing a quick clean-up in the kitchen. As well as one of his friend, but he does not have the patience or fortitude to shower Ohkura at the moment, it can wait until morning. So instead he just pulls off the younger man's messy shirt and let him be topless. Ryo doesn't deny that he enjoys the view, but at the moment he doesn't really care. He's too tired to think about consequences.

Tomorrow he would definitely search more into the possibility of hypnosis, as well as other thinkable reasons, but right now he just wanted to lie down on his bed and not think at all.

Sleeping together with his band mate seemed a lot easier when he was already too tired to think and not even the fact that Ohkura was half naked could stop him from falling asleep in less than a minute.

* * *

“Ryo...” He hears his name being said and Ryo opens his eyes that he hadn't been aware were closed. The body above him glows of sweat in the dim light and Ohkura's bangs is stuck to his forehead. He was breathing heavily and Ryo could feel him shaking, it was obvious that he was very close and so was Ryo, but he didn't want it to end, not yet.

Ohkura is supporting himself on his hands, but Ryo pulls him down so that the drummer is completely lying on top of him as he reaches up to let their mouths clash together in a heated battle.

The sensation of the heat they create together feels like fire on Ryo's body and if he could decide he would never let it stop, but suddenly Ohkura retreats away from him and when they're no longer pressed together the warmth is immediately replaced with cold. He looks up into the eyes over him and realizes that Ohkura is speaking.

“...” For some reason he can't hear the words that is forming on the bruised lips that he was kissing just moments ago.

“..Ryo. Ryo.” It's his name, but something is off. There is banging in the background and Ohkura's voice sounds strange. Then a sudden bark emerges from the drummer's mouth and Ryo jolts up at the unexpected loud sound.

He's panting and the room is once again dark. A dream, it had all been a dream. But then Ryo realizes that the sounds are still there. Someone is banging on the door calling his name. One glance to his right he finds the bed empty, then he can clearly hear Ohkura's barking and growling. In panic he practically falls out of the bed and rushes to the front door. “Shit!”

This was definitely not good.

Ok, so the third chapter is FINALLY up! I'm really sorry for taking so long, but thing is I actually have a lot going on right now since I'm busy preparing for my move to Tokyo!!! ^__^ And then their's also a lot of other things going on, so I really feel guilty for leaving this fic for so long. But now it's finally here, so what did you think? Is the story still enjoyable, or am I taking it too slow? This chapter had both Yamapi and Jin too! Feel free to tell me what you thought it in a lovely little comment! Thanks for reading! <3
