Chapter 2 - Sleep through it all

His head was throbbing dangerously and he seemed sore everywhere. It felt as he'd been hit by a truck. A large truck. What the hell had he done last night? Honestly he couldn't remember it very clearly. Drinking to much was an obvious answer, but he must have fallen asleep still on the floor to get this aching body. Indeed as he opened his eyes he found out he was still in the entrance hall, but he didn't care. Nothing mattered. Not even his cellphone ringing. I wouldn't be important anyway, so all Uchi did was taking another beer from the refrigerator and then he walked straight into the bedroom. Ryo wasn't there he noted. Then why would he be there anyway.

' Uchi was sitting in the brown sofa staring down into his umpteenth beer that day. He didn't notice when Ryo entered the room and it took him some time to register that someone was talking to him. “...shouldn't do this. It's been two weeks already. I'm worried about you” He didn't look up and he didn't answer. Simply because he didn't feel like answering. He didn't feel like doing anything. He just kept staring down the slowly emptying bottle not even flinching when Ryo sat down beside him. “Ne, Uchi... Please” Ryo put his hand on the younger mans cheek but was abruptly pushed away. “Leave me alone” The voice was cold and demanding even though he didn't say it very loudly. Still, Ryo didn't move. Then without warning or as much as a glance Ryo's way Uchi screamed. “GO! GET OUT OF HERE!” At this Ryo finally gave in and left. '

Now Uchi lay in bed his limbs spread out. He was angry. That stupid Ryo would never understand how he felt. He'd lost his job and it was all his stupid oversensitive boss' fault. “Damn it all!” He banged his fist into the wall not caring enough to notice the pain it caused.

Hours must have passed since he went to bed, how many he didn't know. He was staring. The ceiling was gray, reflecting the state of Uchi's mind perfectly. It was all colorless and damp. Would anything matter anymore now that he'd lost everything. His job was long gone and now it seemed as Ryo was to. He hadn't even called or left any other kind of message or notice of his whereabouts, he'd just been gone. Earlier when Uchi got home he hadn't been there. He to had dumped Uchi as yesterdays garbage. Uchi took a zip from a leftover bottle of vodka making him feel as if his throat was on fire.

' “Tell me, what the hell do you want me to do? Huh? Is your life really that miserable now? Don't I mean anything to you anymore? Don't we, what we have, mean anything to you anymore?!” Uchi could hear the anger in the older male's voice, but he didn't really care so he just kept on ignoring Ryo's words of frustration. “Answer me!” It seemed like Ryo's patience was running out as he took hold of Uchi's collar and pulled him up from his sitting position on the couch. “Answer me... Hiroki” Ryo's voice was calmer now, and too full of sadness to ignore. For the first time in weeks their eyes met. The shorter man's eyes where wet and tears would start to fall any second, but Uchi's remained dry and cold as he spoke with his lover for the first time since what seemed like forever to Ryo.

“You don't know anything. You don't know how I feel. You, you don't know anything about me. I thought you did, but clearly I was mistaken. You disgust me, now go, I don't want to see you anymore” And so Uchi turned away again. He tried but couldn't walk away, because Ryo was standing firm refusing to release him. “Let go of me.” The answer was a simple “No.” What the hell did Ryo think he was up to, refusing to let go. Anger starts to weld up uncontrollably inside of him and he pushes Ryo into the wall, hard. “I said let go of me dammit!” He didn't think any further, he could no longer hear anything except his own heartbeat drumming in his ears and he didn't see anything but the man in front as he punched Ryo first in the stomach then in the face. The last of the hits makes Ryo fall to the floor. He is bleeding, not only from his lip. Sometime during his attack they must have hit something, cause' everywhere there where shattered pieces of glass, or was it a broken plate, which was now carving their way into Ryo's hands and knees.

A minute passed as nothing but silence surrounded them. Finally a weak and painful "Uchi... Wh... Did something happen?" Without saying a word Uchi turned around. The last thing he saw before leaving was Ryo's hunched figure on the floor holding up his bleeding hands as if he couldn't believe what he saw. ''

Now when he thought about it he hadn't seen Ryo since that day he'd left him on the floor. What if Ryo really had listened to what he'd said and got out of there for real? But that didn't make any sense, he could still see at least twelve of Ryo's belongings spread around the bedroom. He'd never been the tidy type he thought a small smile appearing absentmindedly.

' “Uchi?” “Shit, curse that man and his fast shower abilities” Uchi stuffed the last piece of the cake into his gap and hid himself behind the sofa while shewing like a maniac. Then it came again, louder this time, which meant the beast was closer. “Uchi..? Where did he go?” By now Uchi's heart was beating like crazy, he was sure that the monster would hear him if he just stopped and listened. The pray laid flat on his stomach holding his breath as the beast went past him into the kitchen. When the coast was clear he sneaked towards the bedroom to find a better hiding place. But he didn't get far before a load roar was heard through the apartment. Like catching on fire Uchi yelped and started to run not really knowing where to hide. It was to late for that though. “UCHI!!” The beast had spotted him looking at him with the eyes of a devil. “HEEELP, I'M GOING TO DIIIIEE!! Don't eat me!” He was trapped now. Like a rabbit, no not a rabbit. More like an apple, defenceless, not being able to move from his spot in the TV-corner. “You know. I just might do that! Eat you, like you did with that cake” The beast answered as he got closer a wicked grin apparent on his grim but handsome face. A so, the answer comes to the pray who suddenly becomes the hunter as he leaps forward and catch the beast with his own lips. And the beast was stunned. ''

A sudden knock awoke Uchi from his dream as he confused and still a little wobbly from last nights drinking sits up. For how long had he been asleep. Who would come visit him now, the clock showing right before 8 am. Well, whoever it is he didn't stop his annoying knocking. Having no other choice Uchi got up and walked to the door.

When he opened he was surprised to see who'd been bothering him this early, forcing him to wake up before lunch. “Kei-chan? What are you doing here” Koyama Keiichiro was one of Ryo's fellow actors and also a close friend to them both. “Is Ryo there? I heard he'd taken a few days off so I came by to see if he was ok. Can I come in?” Uchi blinked a few times, registering the words. (Which was always many when it came to Koyama.) “Eh, sure” He motioned for Koyama to come inside. “Tanks... Wow. It really reeks of alcohol and sweat in here.” Feeling a little embarrassed Uchi nodded apologetic to his friend. “Well... I haven't been feeling to good” “Yeah, I heard from Ryo... I'm sure you'll do just fine, you always do” Koyama gave him one of those completely carefree smiles that only he could manage and it made Uchi feel a little bit better already.

“So how is Ryo? He's not sick is he?” This question stabbed Uchi's heart like a knife. Not because the question itself bothered him, but because he didn't know the answer for it. “I... I don't know. To be honest I don't even know where he is.”

Koyama looked up surprised. “He hasn't even called you?” At those words Uchi suddenly recalled the persistent calling from last night and he ran to his phone forgotten on the bedroom drawer. He flipped it open and read “Seven missed calls”. Hurriedly he looked them through, none of them was from Ryo. In fact they all registered from one and a same lone unknown caller. Uchi closed his phone feeling a little down since Ryo hadn't contacted him. When he reentered the kitchen where Koyama was waiting with a 'So did he call you'-expression on his stupid face, he answered his friend with a sad expression. “He hasn't called. Just someone who dialed a wrong number.”

So second chapter up, what do you think? I liked the cake part! ;P Koyama introduced and even more to come in the next chapter! ^^ And what about Ryo?

Also be aware that English isn't my first language, so I apologize if there are any annoying errors. ^^''' Please comment, it's what keeps me motivated! :D
