Shopping Con!
So, New York Anime Festival was fun in a different way from all the other cons I've been to so far. I spent 99.9% of the time in the dealer room and massive purchases were made. I got there at about 3pm on Friday with Isha and we waited in the lobby for Yoshi. We saw two cool cosplays of, what else, Kingdom Hearts! It was a really nice Axel and Roxas and a Sora and Ven in Armor! While we were waiting we ran into Judy and Carrie. Carrie looked gorgeous in her cosplay which I'm pretty sure was from Tsubasa Chronicle. Once Yoshi showed up we descended into the dealer room... where we did not emerge from until 7pm.
Right off the bat we found some Sailor Moon English Manga and bought some. Then we proceeded to wander up and down the aisles and called each other whenever we found something the other would like. Friday all I bought was the Manga, Seven Deadly sins art and a Heartless plushie. Isha bought out the con Friday. We were going to cosplay Saturday, so she bought some extra cosplay stuff that was really needed.
It took me forever to find the area where Maryann and Indira were set up. The con really sucked in the artist alley set-up. I kind of fell into them by mistake while looking for the video rooms. The con kinda sucked outside the dealer room. I didn't do anything on Friday outside of the dealer room and when I looked... there was nothing to do. The video rooms were playing stuff I had either already seen or had no interest in and the panels were just the usual blah.
Saturday we got there at about 2pm... there really was no need to get there early as there was nothing to do outside the dealer's room, lol. I spent a lot Saturday. First thing I bought was a Trinity Blood Hoodie. Then I got photo's done at Anna's booth where Sara was working. Isha had just shown up as Xemnas, she went to TRU to get her weapons before the con. We had fun taking pics and then were molested by little girl groupies. It was not pretty! We almost had to get Sara to pull out her massive lesbian vibes and declare, "These are my bitches... back off." But luckily the photos finished printing and we ran away. We went to a booth where they were selling things like hard plastic files for $3 and bought two to put our photos in. Then we molested Maryann and Indira and got t-shirts from Indira. Yeah for Social Deviants!!!!
We went and got more money at the ATM at the food court and came back for some hallway cosplay with Lizzette, Will and our mad Moogle. Then Joshypoo showed up and hugs and kisses went around. Although we had to hid in a phone booth cause those groupies were coming around.
Ran back into the dealer room and bought Melon Pan, Voodoo Babies, Beautiful tea cups, a magazine subscription and... you get the idea. We watched the band that was going to play a little concert rehearse and ventured into the video room area. The only thing they were giving was a Gackt video set. We watched that... thought about going to the concert but we had just watched them. Took more cosplay pics of some great cosplayers, bought some keychains with Sailor Moon and Sanzo... talked to Will a bit and then left.
We went back to Mama's, ate dinner and played Sugoroku until 3am.
Sunday was fun. We got up late and decided not to go shopping con and instead watched some live action Japanese and Korean Dramas. Watched our current TV show The Amazing Race and Princess Hours and then played Sugoroku again. All in all a very fun weekend.
