CHAPTER 3:
His arms are stiff along his body. His eyes can't or doesn't want to come off of him. He's as captivated and hadn't felt this for so long ... He knows that the other has noticed him too, he knows that his eyes bother him but did not care. A hand rests gently on his shoulder, forcing him to turn his head. "Is he who I think? "Asked Sungyeol telepathically. He raises his shoulders slightly before turning back again.
" He looks a lot like him ... too much. "
His hand instinctively arises on his chest. He feels nothing, it's quite normal. But memories assail him. He still remembers the sensation when a heart starts beating faster suddenly. This sensation he had experienced only once in his life, thanks to one person. And he was right in front of him. He had the same square jaw, almond-shaped eyes and full lips. He had one wish, pull him off the dance floor and take him in his arms. Tell him how much he missed him ... But was it really him?
Hoya had some difficulties to concentrate on his steps. Many times he had failed to make a mistake but thanks to their intensive rehearsals, he managed to run the course. He wanted to tell the stranger to look away, that he bothered him but he couldn't, had to bear the unpleasant sensation that was weighed a little more each second. He could not really define what it was. Discomfort involved in a strange sort of excitement.
Finally the music stopped, the group also. A long sigh escaped his lips hidden by the applause of the crowd. Soon, they saluted it before walking away, giving way to new groups. Hoya's group doesn't like watching others, because even if it is involuntary, he learns from what they do to create his own choreography. And that's one thing he hates. The young man wants to keep his creativity. So they stay there, hidden from the other side of the bridge waiting for the verdict.
Woohyun looks at him disappearing into the crowd without not exchanging a last look and suddenly he's trying to make his way among the people. It bothers but he doesn't care, ignore Sungyeol and Myungsoo's calls, left behind. He must speak to him, absolutely. As he arrives at the other end of the track, his eyes scan the mass of people. He doesn't see him or the rest of his dancers. He could not disappear so easily. No, he just could not. Unconsciously he frowns and feels despair. Where are you?
"Woohyun! Damn, warn us next time!
- Oh, it's not as if you were unable to find me.
- Woohyun ...
- Sorry, I'm just a little lost. And I don't even know where he is.
- He can't be too far, he will want to know the outcome of the battle. "
The man with red hair shimmering sighed and nodded.
Nearly two hours passed during which the group discussed their delivery, wondered if the others had done better or simply playing. In the middle of the street dance they were well known to not to mix with others. Not out of snobbery, but for the same reasons that prevented Hoya to watch others dancing. The leader had remained silent a moment, watching the two brothers who bicker and Sungkyu struggled to calm them. Sungjong was stubborn by nature, and doesn't obey anybody outside of his brother, with whom he shared an apartment since the death of their parents. But Sungkyu was an exception. Soon the only student of the band sat comfortably while Dongwoo approached his best friend.
"Hey Hoya, you okay?
- Hmm. Yes of course why do you ask?
- I've felt that you were concerned about something during our show. But you still managed well.
- You've noticed. - Hoya sighed deeply - I don't know why but there was this man in the front row who wasn't stoping staring at me. I felt like a weight in the pit of my stomach, seeing him... it was strange.
- A weight? Yeah it's strange, but I see who you're talking about .... Well, don't worry, you will never see him again. - Dongwoo replied with a smile - By the way, speaking of weight, Sungkyu hyung is huge.
- Really? Why?
- Because he stays there like an idiot, while he could confess to Sungjong. "
Hoya gaped a few seconds at his best friend's words. The latter meanwhile, laughed when he saw the expression on his face. He gently patted his shoulder before making a nod, pointing to their friend and his little brother.
"I act as if I could see nothing, but it is rather obvious. I've never talked to Sungjong but sometimes I wonder if he is not aware too. It's so obvious. Hyung is so attentive to him, his eyes say a lot about his feelings. He's good pretending except when he looks at him.
- He thinks it is not normal, he should not feel that way. If you're aware you should tell him, I think it will help him. "
Thereupon the presenter's voice sounded again, signaling the end of the battle and that the results will be announced. The group ran towards the crowd who hadn't moved to line up alongside the other groups. The speech lasted for several minutes, three or four at least, and finally the name was pronounced. A split second is what they had to realize that they had finally won. They went to the dance floor's center, under the congratulations. Hoya smiled brightly, his heart pounding in his chest. He even forgot his discomfort. It was nothing, after all, this battle had nothing official outside the world of the street, but for him it was already huge. First Battle of the street, then the real competition. The applause lasted several minutes and finally the crowd eventually dispersed gradually.
The group meanwhile remained a little longer, they exchanged a few words with other dancers, something exceptional. It was almost 10PM when Hoya felt his phone vibrate. He quickly apologized to his friends and walked away when he saw the number that had just appeared on the screen.
"Hello mom? .... Yes I'm fine, I just won a battle ... No, don't start .... As you say, it's MY life, I do what I like. You and dad don't have your word to say since you have thrown me from the house. ..... And except to berate, is there a reason for your call? ...... Never, forget that. I won't do it, now excuse me, I must join my friends. "
Without waiting for an answer he hung up. His eyes remained fixed on the screen of his phone a few seconds then he put it in his pocket. When he turned, he started violently. There was someone behind him. Too busy with his conversation, he had probably not heard him approaching. He frowned slightly when he recognized the unknown from earlier. The indescribable feeling he had felt had returned too.
"Good evening. "
