A replay of the words meme: Reply to this meme by yelling "Words!" and I will give you five words that remind me of you. Then post them in your LJ and explain what they mean to you.
Words from
bekkypk:
That pair of monsters that get dumped on you :p
I presume you mean Travis and Eleanor, my niece & nephew. In all fairness they aren't dumped directly on me. If you ask Travis they are here to see Granphy. By the time I get home from work though dad's usually tired out so I get to entertain them for a while.
When you visit, if they turn up, they will follow you around as your special and new :p
Plus we tend to go to my room to give everyone else some space, and as the ps2 is in there we will inevitably be followed.
Travis is fairly indifferent about me these days. I'm the person who knows to start the ps2.
Ele has her moments of clingy. There are nights where I'm the only person allowed to pick her up. But then I'm the only one who will indulge her passion for being turned upside down. And she likes that I have velcro fasteners on my shoes 'cos it means she can tickle my feet.
Aliens
Is a fair movie but I preffered Alien. Oh you didn't mean that? Right. Well, I belive in the existance of Extraterrestrial organisms. I don't think they'd ever bother to go poking around the universe by destroying their own planet like we have.
I think the human belief in Aliens is merely a reflection of the creatures of our own world. A human could never do that etc.
But my opinion on such matters changes over time.
Holding hands
Is a fairly symbolic gesture of trust and affection. Long before and infant can speak it will be able to close it's hand around another, even if that's only a finger rather than a whole hand.
It's practical too, if you dont want to loose one another in a crowd or hope to give another confidence in some situations.
Less practical if a lampost or fence gets in the way I guess.. hmm.
Less showy than kissing and more possessive. It also stops the held hand from misbehaving ;)
Shoes
I've never really seen the point in impractical shoes. It's hard enough finding shoes that will fit me without looking at heels or running lights. As Douglas Adams points out there seems to be a conspiracy to make practical shoes impossibly expensive and affordable shoes inordinately impractical.
I can see the point of female heels being to raise awareness of a cute posterior. But most women who actually deign to speak to me rarely think of them that way.
Feet aren't often a turn on for me, in writing boots can be a handy method of drawing out an undressing scene and can be used as shothand for some generic charecter types. In arts I'm bloody useless at feet, shoed or otherwise.
Arts
I tic away in my own little world for my drawings. For a long time I would avoid some subjects in case they upset people but as even innoccuous subjects have started to do that I'm expecting to slow down the amount of work I produce.
As
500year_diary is dying along with the rest of LJ in favour of professional art theives dev art I'm finding the inclination to create fade away.
I was never going to be as good an artist as I'd like to be. My real success has been in recreating imagery from diverse references. When I try to draw just on my own talent it's generally rubbish.
I've learnt to appreciate the efforts of others more in the last few years too.
