This is a cap of the United Nations footage from Neon Genesis Evangelion's first jigsaw of a movie 'death & rebirth'. I use it more for UNIT and spying related posts as no one really pays attention to the NGE link. i wanted the Godzilla defence force logo too but couldnt find a decent copy.

Ah, Patrick Troughton, the Doctor's Doctor. He made the part his own and it was still an acting part. No matter how natural he seems he wasn't playing himself, unlike Pertwee and Baker. This shot is from the moonbase, the title comes from a line of his about why he does what he does. 'There are some corners of the universe which have bred the most terrible things. Things that act against everything we believe in. They must be fought. '
The First Dr was a renegade, but from here on the Doctor has a mission statement, a purpose.
Almost all the actprs to follow Pat regard him as a cornerstone to role. Without his success there wouldnt have been 8 more.

A manipulated pic to put Steed and Mrs Peel together. The Avengers were one of the first ITC style shows I watched, almost the whole canon followed. The Avengers were the 60s, from the gritty overcoats of Dr Keel in 1961 to the shooting into orbit of steed & tara in 1969.

Sapphire and Steel. I didn't get much of a look in when the show first aired. It was ITV and we were a firmly BBC household.
but lets face it, no matter how slow an episode might be McCallum and Lumley. nuff said.

not a superhero but a philosophical detective. a journalist turned vigilante, a man who wants the answers, maybe the only man with the right questions.
played by the inimitable Jefferey Coombs in this DC Justice League appearance.

Ian Marter made a heck of an impact on me as a kid. As Harry Sullivan on the LP of 'Genesis of the Daleks' he was the last male companion in Dr Who for ages. The first Video release from the BBC featured Harry. and Ian as a writer is the second most prolific Target noveliser for the series.
And then his Diabetes caught up with him on his 42nd birthday.
I never got to meet him, his signature is totally archival.
But I don't talk about him or Harry so much these days.

1. How much Bob Vaughn can I use in NaNo this year without getting David McCallum involved, do you think?

well Bob has had a 60 year career and hasnt really worked with David that much. I think your a good enough writer that you don't need the little blonde guy.

2. How much of what you've brought up for me to watch did you expect me to actually go out and buy?

in all honesty, none at all. I expected that 90% of it you'd tell me to F off. the only thing i was actually surprised by in the end was that you didnt like the monkees.
because all those 60s spies had 1 thing on their side. bloody good storytelling.

3. Cake or Underwear? :D

you need an Or in there?
i can live without your underwear ;P

4. No?

that would be telling. we want information!

5. Will you still need me, will you still feed me, when I'm 64?

only if we avoid isle of wight holidays :p
