The Comic Tribute Project
Tucked away in my own little nowhere, a plethora of factors led to embark on something rather large, even by my unlikely art standards.
Inspired diversely by Vworp Vworp's Multi Artist cover, by Lee Sullivan's Unusual Suspects artwork, IDW comics habit of redrawing old comic covers for their new ones and by my own affinity for the comic's history of the show I decided I would to try and produce a 'usual suspects' of the comic incarnations of the Doctor in the style they were presented contemporary to their time on the show.
Didn't quite go to plan as best reference shots were all mid frames. Thus I had a lot of space at the top of the image.
I asked around a bit and settled on using Monsters unique to the comics(with one exception for sentimental reasons)
Also, the 11th Doctor has only really appeared in 2 published illustrated incarnations so far, neither of them actually part of the comics continuity. So he and his Villan are all my fault.

Anyone who wishes to play spot the references, there are No!Prizes for a full set of correct story titles. or maybe i'll just draw something for the closest accurate guess :p
