i did NOTHING yesterday. i wandered around shinjuku a bit, ate at a hole-in-the-wall noodle shop and thoroughly confused sararimen with my slurping abilities, that was about it. i started "packing", which mostly involved cleaning up my room, folding up my dirty laundry and sorting through my chirashi. it was raining anyway.
today i went to akihabara and got some more DS games that made me very happy. itadaki street for the nintendo ds!! i already got through one game on the train today. i also got a nana game which will be fun cuz i've signed up for a job as staff at a live house, hahaha.
the tenin at gamers, when i brought my game to the counter, paused and said, very slowly in english, "this, japanese only." i replied, as clearly as possible, はい、分かりました. dude, the whole box is in japanese, i'm buying the guidebook which also entirely in japanese, and it clearly says on the box, in english, "for sale and use in japan only". do you think i'm stupid and have over looked aaall these things, thinking that the game would magically be in english??? besides, american DS's can play japanese games, so it's not a compatibility issue either. at least, once i said that, he talked to me all in japanese.
this evening, i met my host obaasan and host brother and we saw my host mother do flamenco. omg, the best part? obaasan brought me omiyage-- it's a yukata bag!!! the summer ones made out of kimono fabric with the basket bottoms!!! i've wanted one since forever, but had to put a moratorium on buying purses while here, and besides, all the ones i wanted were expensive. but now i haaaave one ::squees::
um... my host brother... knows the word おっぱい. he has also found out that my むね is particularly やわらかい. yes, you can laugh now. luckily, he was torn between that fact and the fact that i had sparkly/clangy chains attached to my shirt, so i was able to distract him with sparkly.
the performance was really spectacular. the whole flamenco group has gotten better since i last saw them (which was two years ago). there was also a random guy in the group now, who was really good too. i so hope that he and okaasan's teacher are going out, cuz they were adooorable together when they danced. okaasan was really happy that i got to come see her dance (she spotted us from on stage at the end and was smiling so much). she also gave me more delicious pan from her bakery (i am now glad that i admitted to them i ate the apple pie for breakfast).
tomorrow is naoki's live. that's gonna be fun and very iiiinteresting. i'm actually looking forward to meeting the guitarist. i have a lot of old lives to write about now, don't i. i only have about 4 days left here in japan, so they might have to wait until i get home.
