Tonight's a big night. The US has elected its first African-American president. I'm so overwhelmed just now that I can't even properly articulate how I feel. I'm just really glad that a message of hope has won over fear-mongering and charges of being "Anti-American."
Going into this campaign season, I didn't think that Obama was my ideal candidate, but over the last several months I think he's shown that he is one who genuinely cares about this country and has some good ideas for the future. I mean, don't get me wrong, I know things won't change overnight. Even so, I think that this is a step in the right direction for this country, and it's a moment that make me feel proud of the American people.
