Paid account

At long last, I am fed up with the flashing advertisements at Livejournal. When the AU$ was strong and the US$ was relatively weaker 3 days ago, I got myself a paid account. For AU$26 I won't be annoyed by ads and get 35 user icons for a year, it's worth it.

Currently scanning Hoshino Katsura's debut manga, Continue, @300 dpi. It's 49 pages, so it'll take me a while to do. Plus, my scanner isn't exactly a recent model, so it's pretty slow when working in such high resolution. Kind of annoyed too because my scanner trims a little off the manga if the page is placed to the edge. No kidding when someone tells you it requires skills to scan a manga. I'm also referring to this, what I call the "The Complete Idiot Guide to Scanning Manga".

After finishing the episode, I was a little disappointed. When the summary read something like "...where love and friendship are being put to the test....", fans tend to get a bit excited about it, no?

Gauis told Merlin that in order to save Arthur, he must journey across the white mountain to the isle of whatever. It is extremely dangerous, that is why Gauis opposes Merlin to go. I thought, "wow ok, this should be good". Merlin's journey turned out to be a walk in the park. There was no danger whatsoever. He didn't come back with half a scratch. That's dangerous? Unless dangerous had been redefined, it was not bloody dangerous at all. Even if Gaius had given Merlin an old charm passed from Gaius' mother to carry, there should be at least some sort of danger. I don't know, like a wild beast jumping out of a bush or something.

Nimueh is another patient who suffers from the pretty-women-are-stupid syndrome. Girl, if you want someone dead, make sure they are dead before you turn your back to him, please?

At the end, I thought someone would definitely die because of the old magic's law of "if a life is given, there must be a death". Why didn't anyone die? It would deem appropriate for Gauis to die. Seriously, it didn't make much sense to me at all. I need to rewatch the last 5 minutes again because I couldn't hear what Merlin and Gauis were mumbling about in the rain, along with that strong British accent.
