Oh man, this is so good. This is pretty much exactly how I pictured that scene going down(there was a 2x4 involved in my head but close enough haha) and the subsequent fallout from Rorschach's POV instead of Dan's is really brilliantly explored.

Rorschach won’t die fever-struck and bed-ridden, so he’ll be Walter now

and

Daniel is leaning on him, hand pressed to his chest, forehead on his hand, and Daniel is shaking. He wonders if he’s dead and doesn’t know it.

and the wondering if Dan's sick too, and the nuance of what scares him and what doesn't, it's all so brilliant.

<3 Thanks for letting me know about this! Do you mind if I link to it from my continuity post?

Hurr. Oddly enough, I was tempted by 2x4s for that scene as well. Just couldn't think of where he would have gotten one from.

Daniel's point of view during Rorschach's fever-black out is explored more in the drabbles I'll be posting tommorow or the next day.

.///. rrrrl, I'm so flattered you like this so much. You can link it, if you want.

Eh, scrapwood in or next to a dumpster, not uncommon. I figure he'd have needed a moment of having cleared a lot of them away all at once to have an opening to get away, but this is Rorschach; he could probably have managed that with or without improvised weaponry.

Drabbles hooray!

(edited for typo)

Mmgh, I was thinking about that though- in this case, wouldn't it be better to, as they say, travel lightly? Better to kick ass with what you have than work toward a weapon? I don't know, thinking about it more, I more like the idea of him fighting a way out-- trying to get away.

Oh, I don't think he would have carried it with him - just snatched it up, used it, dropped it and run. But even if not, I think he could have fought his way out regardless.

Mm, yes, that I can see. If it was right there, that would have worked out well..

Rrrrl, makes me want to edit for gratuitous use of 2x4.

Nooooo don't edit. I actually prefer this situation, where he doesn't really remember how he got away, it ties in in so many other places(and with other things he can't remember). Really, it's brilliant as-is.

rrr. Will leave it alone then. Vague memories are better for a story like this.
