Stifling Tiffany’s giggle with a hand over her mouth, Siwon’s next to her, an arm securely around her waist. Her smile’s a curve of glossy pink when Hyukjae and Kangin take turns telling her jokes, whispering in her ears with their eyes on the bright red lace dress that occasionally rises pass her mid-thigh.

He stands in the doorway, nursing an empty cup, too nervous to drink. Kris’s incident at last year’s party has him convinced; one beer will turn him into one of those cautionary myths that turns out, aren’t fictitious at all. She crashes his train of thought with a whopping squeal, tumbling out of her seat and crashing into Miho’s open arms. She looks horrified for a fragment of second before exploding in laughter, the corner of her eyes crinkling as the boys help her back up on the barstool. The conversation resumes and he wonders if the subject of their conversation is still her.

The noises get the best of him and Luhan thinks about how nice it would be to tuck himself in the warmness of his bed and call it a night but for whatever reason he doesn’t make a move to leave, instead he removes himself from the situation, retreating to the spacious, dimly lit kitchen that everyone else seems to have forgotten about.

He hears the sound of the door clicks and turns.

“Oh, sorry,” a pretty, girlish voice echoes, “You don’t mind, right?”

Why does she even ask? He mused. She’s undeniable, always has been and somehow, he thinks Tiffany knows it too.

Luhan follows her line of gaze and shakes his head, watching her take small, hesitant steps pass him. The brightness pours out from the fridge and he absentmindedly thinks about how striking she looks at that moment, trapped between the light and the dark.

She glances over her shoulder at him with that enigmatic half-smile. “What are you looking at?”

“The beer,” he replies a beat too quick.

Tiffany arches a brow slightly, turns on her heel and closes the fridge door using her behind. “Sure, sure,” she teases then hands him a beer, the other one for herself.

He smiles a little. "Not feeling the party anymore?" he asks. Somehow he expected her to be the last to go home and drunk on her way back.

“I am, I am,” she rushes out, “It’s just been a really, really, long night,” she continues, opening the can of beer, “A girl needs her alcohol in silence before she goes back in the field, if you know what I mean.”

“No, I don’t really know what you mean,” Luhan replies, his throat suddenly dry as she comes up to stand beside him, “But I’ll take your word for it anyway.”

“I bet you haven’t been socializing,” she points out, “You don’t look the type.”

He shrugs half-heartedly. “You look the type.”

Her mouth drops open, looking very offended by his claim.

“How do I look the type?” she says defensively, “If it’s because of that chair stunt earlier on then can I just say that, that was absolutely accidental and you can’t bl -“

“I’m just teasing you, Tiffany.”

She blinks. “Oh”

Then Tiffany shakes her head, but there’s a smile sneaking onto her lips and it’s absolutely radiant. “I - ” She hesitates for a long moment. “You really got me there, Luhan, you really got me there.”

“Did I?”

She smiles, wide and happy - the most genuine she’s been the whole night. The moonlight hits her and she’s made of gold, so stunning and breathtaking to him but he doesn’t say it. Luhan does the only think he knows how to do around her and just stare, letting the little details of her sinks in -there’s the stars in her eyes, her smile in the shape of a cartoon princess’ and the warmness within her that reminds him of summer.

He's in awe of Hwang Tiffany. It's a fact.

“Yeah,” she says softly, “You did.”

Luhan knows he could kiss her now and she probably wouldn't put up a fight.

He doesn’t.

“We should get back…” he starts slowly, unsure of his decision, “There are people waiting for you out there.”

"Right," Tiffany says, with a little nod, “Yeah, I should get going.”

Tiffany turns then looks at him and inside Luhan knows he’s getting ready for something because she's lighting him up with her smiles and he'd do anything for her to smile again.

But for now, he watches her like his favorite movie, longing in his eyes and dreams on his mind.
