(no subject)
I'm off to my first ever professional conference on Sunday!
It's weird... "going to a conference" is always something you hear "old" people talk about. Now I am.
It looks pretty cool. It's the big annual conference in my field, and there's so few people in this field that pretty much everybody goes to this 5-day meeting every year. It's a good way to catch up with different people you meet working in various states. I'll meet up with some of my Arizona buddies from over the summer (yay!)
On the downside, I had to update my "professional" wardrobe. :( I only wear jeans to work every day, so it feels like kind of a waste to buy things like black pants and khakis and button-up shirts, etc., but it'll probably be worth the investment in the long run...
Also, got a slightly different haircut than normal. I've had basically the same one for like 10 years, so it'll probably take some getting used to. I'll decide if I like it in like a week.
