about a month ago a friend of mine who just recently caught the fitness bug convinced me to join him on one of his daily runs. we planned to jog all the way down to essendon train station, which is a good 3 of 4km away.
prior to this i hadnt done anything physically strenuous for quite awhile except for occasionally sleeping through my alarm and consequently driving maniaclly all the way to work in a dishevelled state and then trying to break the record for 100 m sprint down the long corridors. i had no dulsions about my fitness status.
the run started off well, i was feeling strong, healthy and thought that perhaps my fitness levels werent as bad as i initially assumed; of course my wishful thinking quickly diminished when we hit the 10 minute mark. thats when i began to feel the pangs in my stomach, extreme shortness of breath and this urge to vomit. all this combined corroborated just how unfit i was. it was disgraceful, to say the least.
since then ive been trying to muster up the motivation get some sort of fitness regieme going which will primarily consist of activties that will add some bulk on my skinny frame but after those 10 horrid minutes ill have to try squeeze in soem cardiovascular exercises.
this is my goal this year. if i achieve absolutely nothing, id want to at least get into shape or the very least turn into a fat slob.
