i spent much of the day at williamstown beach. just before summer emerged we made plans to sun bath and that finally came into fruitation after many failed attempts to organise an outing. mainly due to myself spending the whole of last month running my parents business. they spent january in cambodia and i volunteered to hold down the fort.
that means working 15 hour days throughout the whole week. it was a long painful month, so it was nice to spend the day outdoors. i hoped catching some rays would would give me renewed vigor and perhaps alter my pasty and somewhat sickly appearance.
but after spending 3 hours under the blistering heat instead of obtaining a tan i looked more like a pyschotic ex girlfriend hunted me down and and in a vindictive rage splashed boiling water all over my body. i have red patches on my arms, legs, chest and back which resemble minor burns and with my flush cheeks and ruddy nose i have taken on the appearance of an anime character when he/she is embarrassed.
i foolishly passed on the sun screen believing that i was somehow immune to burning. but despite all this i enjoyed lying down in the intense heat, digging my feet in the sand while having inane conversations. utterly relaxing.
