I couldn't wait until tomorrow to finish this baby up.
So, I go back to before the battle and decide to fight those dividing
bubbles to refill my MP and level up to the maximum (which is only 1
higher than my current). Unfortunately, I notice a big flaw in that plan:
You get 10 MP back for killing one bubble. When the bubble divides, it
takes 10 MP per bubble away from you. You can see how this would limit
your ability to recover.
Oh well, they're still worth good enough XP that I was able to earn the
10k-odd XP I needed pretty fast.
Here are the level 15 stats for you:
You know, for the life of me, I don't know what agility actually DOES in
this game.
So, having done this, I 'port out and back to Po's House (the most
convenient place to rest after flying, since it's on the same screen
where you land), then back to the castle, taking the time to kill some
more bubbles without letting them suck my MP so I recover the 20 MP cost
of flying, then head back up to confront Bavmorda again.
Yes yes blabbeddy blah blah, we've heard this before. Let's go!
She basically flies around fairly predicatibly, dropping fireballs on the
floor as she goes like a reverse Pac-Man, and you have to beat her by
shooting her with the wand's Magic Missiles.
However, you can't really afford to miss in this battle, since you have a
limited supply of MP, so you pretty much need to either stick with her or
stand in one place, wait for her to come for you and shoot until she gets
too close. I chose the latter, but didn't move fast enough to dodge
effectively >_>
As you can see, I took a lot of damage. :\
"You have retrieved the Crest of the Spirits!"
No Willow, don't......
I'll be destroyed.
I guess she's not very enthusiastic about staying alive.
However, that's not the end! Nope, there's another battle!
It's pretty much the same as the one before, with two important
differences: First, you can use your sword to stabbity her to death, and
second, you're fighting over that lava effect from the opening sequence.
Die, old lady!
I guess that's what this scene here
Would look like to an observer in the next county.
And now, the credits! Unfortunately, MobyGames doesn't have any credits
listing :|
...Not saying anything.
And now, the last image you see in the game, pasted together for your
viewing pleasure.
For extra pleasure, hit "end" on your keyboard, then scroll slowly up for
the full effect:
So, that's Willow for you. Pretty damn good game, bore little resemblence
to the film, but who cares about that? Not I, I can tell you!
So, I think maybe I'll do the arcade version for my next Let's Play.
Either that, or Super Robot Wars Advance, which might take months if I
finish it at all.
What do you think?
Hell, if you have any other suggestions, make 'em!
