Welcome back everyone. Rather fulfilling night yesterday evening, so lets get right to it...
Most of thursday night was spent working on the Windurst route of CoP 3-3, much of which involves the Chebukki brothers (and sister) causing mischief all over windurst. And to think I thought Prishe's antics in Bastok were bad enough, these taru are worth just as many laughs especially when you realize just how scheming they are. =)
Course, we can't let the kids have all the fun can we. Some of the old guard of Windurst also come out to stir the pot some more. =)
Well, all scheming and kniving aside, the meat of this mission came when professor Yoran-Oran (whom I owe almost all my fame in windurst to), dispatched me to obtain a trio of Mimeo Feathers from the top of Parradamo Tor in Attowah Chasm. Yep, it was time for another trip up the big hill, and this time I would be going it alone. I'll be honest, having someone that knows their way around the area really does help, cause trying to get to the top by yourself can be a lesson in frustration. After locating the loose sand where the the Mimeo Stone was located (popping a NM antlion in the process which was quickly dispatched), the job was to get the stone to the top of the mountain before it lost it's glow (ie: 1 hour time limit). Yes... I did fail the first attempt, mainly due to only being vaugly familiar with the layout and a couple misteps that brought me to ground level. My 2nd attempt though proved much more successful.
Returning to Windurst, I hooked Yoran-Oran with the feathers he needed, then scooted off to find the Chebukki's again. Before I could though, they had already scampered off to Jeuno. *Sigh* Well, least for now the mission was finished and I was once again on my way. Hopefully we'll get to find out more bout these mischevous little taru-tikes in the near future.
After a quick stop over in Bastok to pry some more info out of Cid, it was off to Jeuno and my contacts over at the Tenshodo. To find out that Prishe was attacked (supposedly by the mysterious boy) was a shock, and that the amulet she wears is tied to her well being... the same amulet which was stolen, and which I have another of. Hopefully she'll be alright for now. But now, all clues are pointing over to the magical towers of Pso'xja, located deep in Beaucidine Glacier. The towers have long been controlled by the Tenshodo, and to get to the inner sections of them, a little bit of back scratching was needed (in the form of 1 of the 3 chips that drop within the complex). After gathering a few friends (Squazz, Arbell, and Myanth), we plunged into one of the unsealed towers. Within the first couple of kills we managed a grey chip, as well as a pair of Florid Stones (ENM triggers) which should prove useful in the future.
I was bout to make my way back to Jeuno to turn in the chip and call it an evening, when our fearless leader, Edarion gives us the call... get to Valley of Sorrows.

My First Turtle...:
Friday morning, early, too early to be concious enough to understand the world around you. TMO arrives in Valley of Sorrows with 7 people, and we're not alone as a full contingent of folks from IN and LGA (Little Green Apples, a japanese HNMLS) are present. Either way, we were outnumbered, outgunned, and facing people falling asleep.
Since we had a bit of time prior to the first window, I decide to catnap for bout 30 minutes hoping to get a little bit of stamina back for a few windows. Beach sounds, smooth and relaxing... sounds of desert winds, calming... sounds of being agroed by a raptor... OH SNAP! Least I had my sound up high enough to hear it (it had agroed Myanth thankfully). We dispatch said raptor and moved over to the safe, if not crowded side of the area.
51 in zone at time of first window (counting XP parties), our guess is this was going to be Admantoise. At bout 3 minutes till first window, everyone moves into position. At this point, we are outnumbered by least 3 to 1, maybe more.
The pop comes, I'm thinking Admantoise... Aspid shows up instead, he pops purple... I'm thinking someone from either IN or LGA got him. But then...
He's ours! The fight is on! And.. we're also knee-deep in adds. Things started off slowly for us as our primary concern was getting the adds off us while trying to get our reinforments in. Within 5 minutes, the other linkshells are already demanding /random. Bah I say to them, they may have numbers, but we've least got the guts and the tallent to get the job done. Aspid's regen is just insane at this point, and to see him go from 95% to 97% to 99% in a matter of seconds...
Our reinforcments begin to arive, along with much needed firepower. Things start to get moving, abiet slowly. Milikai is our point man at this point and has hate on Aspid. We're finally managing to get the adds under control. At some point about 70'ish percent, we're not exactly sure how... but Milikai some how inexplicably get's one-shotted by Aspid. Then Mr. Aspid pulls me in, and I get Toosie-Popped... it goes something like this (for those of you that don't remember this classic)
Hey Mr. Turtle, how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie-Roll Pop? Hmmm, let's see... 1 *lick*, 2 *lick, pull in* 3... *Crunch, Kimiko was defeated by Aspid* ...3. @@;;;
At this point, Ed grabs hate and orders a cure barrage on him to keep him up while Swazi chainspell raises Mili and I... Mili gets back into the fray while I rest (and then immediatly gets downed again by a raptor add) --;
After being raised again (double weakness thankfully doesn't affect healing spells, so I go and backup Mili at this point), we get things back going. Becomming pressed on time, Ed orders a shift in tactics. With 4 blm's and a pair of rdm's now, we decide to open up on blizzard II through IV in moderation, rather than waiting for the darkness skillchain. I eventually unweaken and rejoin the fray as others are reloading... Aspid is slowly but surely going down, but we're running short on time before he goes into SSJ4 mode.
And soon enough, we bring Mr. Aspid down for the count... =)
As you can see, our big drops of the evening were the Admantoise Egg (congrats to Hiroko, one step closer to the Black Belt), and Wrymial Abj: Body (Congrats to Squazz, Crimson Scale Mail get!), and a good chunk of change to the LS coffers. All in all, decent drops, but the rush of excitment, to have brought down my first real HNM, it's something I'm not about to forget for a long time.
Tommorow (or least later today) we should be doing Dynamis - Bastok. Hope to see you all again soon. =)
