An announcement, a week before…

"Hey, everyone, listen up!"

I took off my headphones, looked up from my notebook and saw Tanaka Juri, our class representative, on the teacher's table.

"HEY!!! I SAID LISTEN!!!"

But the rawr-ing of the class only grew louder. I heard him stand up from his seat, the guy who always sleeps at the back corner of the class, who incidentally was just diagonally away from my own seat. He whistled loudly, that made me cover my ears and the whole room went quiet.

"Ahem, thanks, Ryuu." Juri thanked him and I looked over to Juri with a frown.

I still don't get how these two became friends, but they were one of the best of friends or so I've heard. Juri just never shuts up about Morimoto Ryuutaro when he starts talking about him, he'll definitely talk for hours to no end. Ryuutaro sat back down and look out the window like he usually did when he wasn't asleep on his table.

"We're holding the annual party in a couple of days, so as a requirement of not embarrassing the school being the host. We're all required to take dancing lessons in the gym 2 hours a day and to practice them up to the day the party is on. Don't forget that this is also a chance to invite that person you've been itching to talk to the whole year! Who knows it may end up one of the most successful love stories in the school's history!" Juri announced, smiling from ear to ear.

He went to his seat that was located behind me. A 'tsk'ed escape my lips as he passed by me.

"You're such a romantic." I jokingly mused at him and he smiled.

Juri is a good friend to me; he's pretty responsible and very friendly.

"I was actually surprised you weren't the one that burst out to get the class quiet."

"Well, your best friend went ahead and did it before me." I shot back at him.

"Ms. sensitive ears over there was just too slow, that's all." Ryuutaro shot back at me looking like he was bored out of his mind.

I opened my mouth to snap back at him, but Juri held his hands up between us, instantly stopping me from making any more of a scene than we already have.

"Now, now don't tease, Naomi. You two are looking more and more of a newly wedded couple, every day; always get into a fight you know." Juri told us.

"It's his fault." I muttered and Ryuutaro laughed heartily.

I shot a glare at Ryuutaro.

"I just did it because of Juri, not because of Ms. sensitive ears…" Ryuutaro admitted to Juri as he faced us.

"Eehh?? Ryuu, don't go spreading an unnecessary rumor! We're both guys you know!?" Juri said, hitting his arm lightly, but Ryuutaro keeps his eyes on me, totally ignoring him.

Our eyes met for a brief moment. I could have sworn his eyes were trying to tell me something. I shrugged them off and went back to what I was doing.

----

5 days before the party…

"Ne, Ryuu! You've been skipping the dance lessons. You too, Nao!"

"I'm Nao, now?"

"Why don't you like it?"

"Well, I didn't say that…"

Ryuutaro clicked his tongue and lift up his head from his arms, looking at our direction.

"You guys are so noisy! That's my job so you guys should stop that."

I looked at him with a 'you're so weird' expression and Juri just laughed at him. Ryuutaro just grinned in return to both of us.

"So Naomi, do you have anyone you want to go with?" Juri asked as he sat down at his seat.

"Where?" I simply asked.

"He's referring at the party. Party!" Ryuutaro shot at me as he slipped back in his table.

"No, not really."

"Eh? Why not?" Juri exclaimed like it was the craziest thing I've ever said.

"Parties can be kind of loud…" I reasoned sheepishly.

"Just give it up, Juri. She won't go because her ears are too sensitive for that kind of stuff and she's no fun at all." Ryuutaro said as he close his eyes.

"HEY! TAKE THAT BACK!" I shouted at him defensively as I stood in front of him.

Ryuutaro smugly smiled at me as he looked at me at the corner of his eye. I was red in anger as I heavily huffed at him.

"Why? It's true, isn't it?"

I frowned and bit my lower lip and Ryuutaro chuckled in victory. It was true I don't like loud and noisy parties, because it hurts my ears too much, but I like fun… I can be fun when I wanted to be…

"Since you two like flirting with each other so much, why don't you two just go together?" Juri suddenly shot at us.

"How is this flirting!?" I shot at Juri.

"Well, either way you two have no choice. You two are the only ones left without partners, you know?" Juri started to laugh, before making his escape.

"Ryuu, take good care of Naomi!" He shouted before disappearing out the door.

"What do you mean?? You come back here!" I was about to run after him.

"Just let him be, Naomi. He's always loved playing match maker. Plus he just likes to rub it in that there is no one else anymore." Ryuutaro told me, stopping me from my tracks.

He just called me by my name, not any made up nickname made to taunt me and my delicate ears. The facts that Juri pointed out suddenly hit me hard. He was right and I frowned. Ryuutaro stood up from his seat and slowly walked over to me as our conversation progressed.

"I'm not going." I told him as I continued to frown to no one in particular.

"Attendance is required. We're the host school."

"Right…"

"Wanna go together?"

"Eh?"

"And here I thought you have sensitive…" He teased me with a cheeky smiled lingering in his lips.

"I do; it's just… Why are you asking me? You can easily go get any girl away from someone else."

"Oh, so… Are you telling me I'm suave?"

"N-no…"

"Debonair?"

"No…"

"Attractive? Handsome?"

"H-heck no… You're reading too much into what I said!"

"Someone you can't really resist and you secretly have a crush on?"

"Fine, make fun of me why don't you… If this was my fate being with you then it's probably better if…"

Ryuutaro suddenly pulled me into his arms, our bodies so close together I was sure he could hear my heart beating hard and fast in my chest as I could hear his. One arm on my waist and the other traveled to my hand. I looked into his eyes with confusion, looking for some kind of answer to what he was doing. He lead me, left foot forward followed by the right, one step at a time in a waltz.

"I'll stop. …Just don't tell Juri. I've been practicing, alright?"

I stared at him for a moment, smiled and nodded. Is this the real you, Ryuutaro?

"You're so sly, Morimoto."

"Ryuutaro."

"Huh?"

"Just Ryuutaro, Naomi." He called my name again.

Ryuutaro's hazel eyes were gentle, but serious, looking back into my eyes. It surprised me how he could be like this. He was teaching me to waltz without any music to follow but the beating of our hearts. My hands fit snuggly in his as he led me, just dance around in circles. My heart felt like it would break out of my chest as we continued for what felt like hours.

----

3 days before…

So I will be going to the party with Morimoto Ryuutaro, the chaos maker, the bad boy of our school. Somehow he made me think twice about him, he has a soft side despite all the things they say about him. Speaking of the party, I don't really know how to dance… Last time, I just followed whatever Ryuutaro was doing up until now. It just felt so natural… I sighed.

"What's wrong, Naomi-san?"

I looked up and saw Murata Rikito, one of our classmates who's also a part of the music club and basket ball team.

"Murata-kun!" I exclaimed and I heard Ryuutaro groan in his seat.

I covered my mouth and giggled as I admired him for a moment.

"Don't wanna wake up sleeping beauty of there." Rikito mused softly at me and I giggled a bit before facing him.

"So, what was with the problematic look?"

"Because… I-I don't know how to dance…" I shyly admitted.

"That's impossible! You love music as much as I do! And that's saying a lot!!"

Rikito sat in the seat in front of me.

"Well, since I was blessed with kick ass hearing… In return, I've got two left feet. Was what Kami-sama declared when I was born, because I can't be too perfect." I joked and he laughed.

"You look fine to me." Rikito softly admitted.

"Hmm?" I pretended to have missed it and let it pass.

"Nothing, want me to teach you? In return, I get one dance during the party."

"Oh! Sure, why not? Who did you ask to the party anyway?" He stood up from his seat.

"Oh, I was asked…So the music room?"

"But… Um…I have to tell Ryuutaro…" I told him, but he grabbed my hand.

"Nah, leave the bad boy to his sleep. Come on, Naomi." His grip became tighter and I could feel my hand losing its blood flow.

Rikito was scaring me a bit. His aura is different from his usual self.

"No, really… I have to tell him… Ryuutaro's…" He pulled me out of my seat.

"Just come with me."

A hand came from behind me and grabbed his wrist, forcing him to release me. I followed the hand to the base and saw a scary and pissed off Ryuutaro.

"Naomi said 'no'. Leave now, Rikito." Ryuutaro hissed at him as he pushed Rikito's hand away.

I heard Rikito scoff as turned to Ryuutaro so that we'd face each other. I felt sad and guilty seeing Ryuutaro so angry.

"Ryuutaro…" I called, but he ignores me.

"Don't you come near, Naomi! Do you hear me!?"

I swore if it weren't for me who was sandwich between them and lightly pushing Ryuutaro from Rikito; Ryuutaro would have started a brawl with him. Rikito walked off with a 'chi'. Ryuutaro turned his attention to me and his eyebrows furrowed in the middle.

"Don't dance with other guys! Don't go anywhere with other men! Only dance with me! Only be with me!"

"Ryuutaro…"

"Don't you understand, Naomi!? He was going to…If I didn't get up…What would I…" Ryuutaro mumbled, but failed making any sense to me.

I saw the troubled look in his eyes and couldn't help looking down on the floor where he stood, feeling guilty.

"I'm sorry, Ryuutaro." I mumbled as I took a step closer to him.

He sighed, had his index finger caress my jaw line and raised my head so our eyes met yet again, before holding me in his arms.

"What do you want to learn today?" He gently smiled at me.

"Anything is fine…"

"Troublesome girl." He shrugged at me, but his smile didn't go away.

I stuck out my tongue at him in return. My hands snaking their way behind his neck. Slowly we swayed side to side without pulling away from each other. Slow dancing, I put my ear on his chest and closed my eyes, focusing on his heart beating fast and loud. His warm body against mine like this, I wish it would never end.

----

1 day before…

"Morimoto Ryuutaro, don't just sleep here!" I shouted at him just a few feet from him and hit him light on the head with my book.

"Ou! Naomi, that hurts…" The auburn headed boy who was laying his head on his arms groaned as he groggily looked up at me with a weak smile.

"Don't be such a baby… I can hear you snore all the way to my seat." I told him as I pointed to the seat diagonally away from his.

He chuckled lightly and fitted his head in his folded arms again without taking his attention off me.

"So you were taking notice of me and here I thought you'd never look at me."

"Your snoring is just irritating my ear that's all. Besides everyone was practicing for the annual ball party and you're just goofing off."

"Your ear is always the most sensitive…" Ryuu commented as he looked away from me and out the window.

I smiled contentedly taking it as a compliment and grab his hand, before trying to pull him off his seat.

"Well, come on then, lazy ass. We have to practice too, you know."

"Yeah, yeah."

He stood up in front of me, all 171cm of him. He slouched a bit and scratched the back of his neck, his eyes not meeting my eyes.

"Where do we…"

"At the gym, since it's only natural to practice where it'll be most spacious."

"Alright." He said and grabbed his bag and mine all of a sudden.

"Hey!"

"I'll carry it, Naomi."

I was taken back a bit at his sudden offer and he walked passed me with a poker face.

"Show off." I mused with a giggle and I followed him to the gym.

Our so called resident bad boy carrying my things, who would have thought? We passed by some students on our way to the gym.

"Isn't the Morimoto-san? Why is he with Ando Naomi?"

"Are they going out?"

"They say they’re going to party together."

"They even said Ando-san begged on her knees him to go with her."

"Eh? How pathetic."

I felt embarrassed such rumors spreading… I look down to my feet. It wasn't true… An arm was put around my shoulder and made me look over to the owner. I heard gasps from the people around us.

"Ryuu…" I called him worriedly.

"Don't mind them."

"But…"

"I'm going out with Ando Naomi! So do you guys wanna make of it?" He shouted at them and my eyes went wide.

The other students scattered and ran off.

"Lair." I told him, but a smile appeared on my lips none the less.

He grinned back at me.

"Well, you wanted them to shut up right?"

"Well, you're making even more unnecessary rumors!"He laughed at me.

"Making noise is my specialty."

"Got that right." I groaned and he flashed a smile at me as I looked over to him.

We laughed at each other's company. This was actually nice. I think I could actually fall for him.

On the day…

I scanned over the huge ball room, where the annual party was held. I was looking for a certain auburn colored head. It wasn't that hard to look for him in a crowd, because everyone else, beside me who's a natural brunette and him who had dyed his hair auburn, had raven hair. I jumped down the stage and on to the dance floor. I dusted the edge of my short white one piece gown and continued to search for him. My whole body tensed up immediately as a pair of arms grabbed me from behind disabling my arms from any movement. I struggled to get free from my captor, but I felt his head over my shoulder and whispered in my ear.

"Looking for someone?" His rich low voice echoed and his warm breath tickling my ear.

My kidnapper led me to a room while I struggled in his arms.

"Let me go, Ryuu!" I demanded as I sharply turned over my shoulder.

I was greeted by a raven haired guy with a boyish grin on his face. My cheeks grew hot by the second from the closeness of our bodies.

"You're not auburn anymore!" I exclaimed instantly without even a second thought.

He chuckled as his foot kicked the door shut.

"I was never auburn." He teased me.

I looked away and pouted.

"I meant your hair…"

"Do you miss my auburn hair that much?" He softly taunted me.

His hand caressed my cheek and led me looking at a mirror that was in front of us. Ryuu was wearing a classic tux, his hair slick back and looking really attractive with a similar feel as James Bond.

"No, I think black hair looks good on you too…" I softly admitted as the blush on my cheeks grew.

Unfortunately for me, he still heard my soft comment as he flashed a smile at me for confirmation that can be seen in the reflection.

"I think, you look very pretty too, Nao…" Ryuu whispered with a low and rich deep seductive voice in my ear.

"Why are we here anyway?" I asked

"You head will hurt if there's too much loud music right? This way I can protect you and I'll get you all to myself. It's a win-win situation." I laughed at his logic.

"So who's your target, Mr. 007?" He lightly chuckled at my joke.

"You." He answered with a smile.

He gave kisses to the edge of my ear gently and slowly, before he nipped at the lob of my ear. My body tensed up under his arms and kisses. It's not that it's not a nice feeling; I just feel uncomfortable seeing myself in a mirror with this kind of expression I've never seen before.

"Ryuu?"

"Hmm?" He answered as he continues to nip my ear.

"What are we doing?"

"I won't do anything drastic. Just please don't go…" Ryuu mumbled as he teasingly lick the tip of my lob and sent shivers up my body.

"But…"

Ryuu sighed and held me a bit closer. His head rest on my shoulder as he faced the mirror.

"Look, both of your ears are bright red." Ryuu teased me with a laugh.

I frowned, he's back to teasing me again. Ryuu's index finger once again traced my jaw-line and we were face to face with each other. Our eyes met each other and I looked away feeling rather embarrassed, but he held on to my chin. Not letting me look away from him.

"But I wouldn't have it any other way, Nao."

He slowly moved closer and closer to my face. I could feel his lips teasingly on mine, but my eyes couldn't look away from his. The intensity and determination of his eyes that told me if I did I'd definitely regret it.

"Will you be my leading lady, Nao?" His lips brushed on mine as he spoke these words and my lips involuntarily parted.

"A-are you teasing me again, Ryuu?" He smugly smiled at me and closed the almost non-existent gap between us.

Cautiously kissing me on my lips, his eyes where slightly open just like mine, nibbling my lower lip, his tongue slowly brushes on it. I closed my eyes trying to focus on what was he was doing. He captures my upper lip in his mouth as well, his tongue finding an entrance. The feeling was too late and too good to resist him; his tongue danced in my mouth and found my own tongue in no time at all. His tongue flicked mine as if daring me to retaliate. I slightly opened my eyes again to see what he was up to and I could have sworn he smiled. He became more enthusiastic as his tongue became even more daring, circling mine several times and flicked it once more. The warm soft lips leaves my own, breathless, speechless and leaving me grasping for air.

"Am I?" He taunted and I bit my lower lip afraid to say something wrong.

I just stared at him, worried to say anything even though I've never been worried about what I say to him before.

"Is that a yes then?" He playfully smiled at me.

My blood instantly rose up to my cheeks and I suddenly felt hot as my eyes widened at the thought of saying 'yes'. I took control of myself and looked away. His hand caressed my cheek and led me back to face him; his eyes were begging me.

"Please? I need an answer."

"Why?" He stared at me as if to check if I was serious.

Ryuu lets me go and paces in front of me. From time to time he stops and looks at me, then goes back to pacing. He stops and turns to me, but I held my ground and he looked away from me up to the ceiling, rubbing the back of his neck.

"B-because… I just can't keep away anymore… I think I might be falling even more for you…" He sheepishly and quietly mumbles to himself.

I giggled and walked to him. This is was a rare sight; Ryuu looking away, being shy. I took the chance to copy him, whenever I looked away from him. I caressed his cheek and to my surprise he closed his eyes cherishing my touch. I lead him towards me.

"I love you too." I told him and his eyes shot open instantly, staring back at me.

"Can you repeat that?"

"Oh, you heard me…" His lips curved into a smile and hugged me tightly.

"I love you…" Ryuutaro whispered softly in my ear.
