I'm back...sorta....
So, I never really told anyone I was gone, but I'm back from kayaking in Iowa with my in-laws. It was fun.
My last day of work is tomorrow. I'm looking forward to being done for good. I may miss cutting radishes to look like amanita muscaria, but I can always buy a bag of radishes...though I don't know if red radishes are readily available in rural Japan. We'll see. I don't know how much I will or won't miss this job, but I'm looking forward to starting fresh.
Our moving sale is this weekend. I hope the weather's good. I want to be rid of things. Lots of things. Not enough things, mind you. My dad is somewhat frustrated by the amount of books we're retaining (if only he knew how many we've loosed to our friends and beyond). Though, he doesn't quite realize how many of them we actively use for reference or that we reread some of the novels the same way most people re-watch a movie they like. Thankfully, he's still willing to keep them all for us while we're gone.
We also (quite likely) sold my car yesterday. It's been sitting out back for well over a year with a flat tire and in need of a check-up (it's vacation from activity has killed the battery, too) and my father-in-law decided to fix it up a bit and clean it. While he was doing so, some guy walked buy and offered to buy it when he gets paid. Yay!
And now I must go to bed, for tomorrow is my last day of work and it's going to be busy.
