JAFAX is over. It was fun. We made moneys. We talked to people (and countries, thanks to the popularity of Hetalia). We didn't get much sleep ( Read more... )

Well, we sold some more prints and bookmarks, origami crane earrings, stickers, seashells with merfolk drawn on them and something else....oh! Some little demons and Nat was making seashell necklaces with kanji on the seashells. Overall, sales were down this year, but I somewhat expected it. Still, it was a good turnout. We even had the chance to boost our sales with some of our old or duplicate manga. No actual commissions this year, but I didn't really feel like doing them anyway, so I'm fine with that. The biggest seller really were the earrings. I told another artist that she could steal the idea, since we aren't likely going to be there next year. D:

As far as cool goings on goes, I have no....wait....wait, I have something. Well, first of all, it's a lot bigger since the last time you were there. Artists' Alley is now in Mackinac Hall. It was last year too, but I don't remember if we told you before or not. Vendors and the main event stuff are still in Padnos/Henry Halls. I mostly stuck to my table, so I never wandered down that far. Hetalia's Lithuania (we were never formally introduced except through costume) came by to chat frequently and brought China with her on Sunday.

This year's theme was Camp Anime. I managed to fit a supernatural character into the theme just fine when I made my table fee. After all, elves can live in the woods. I always forget to scan my stuff before the con, though. Oh well.

Somebody broke the door nearest us and one of our neighboring tables were keeping count of how many people walked through the door with plans to drink that many shots that night. The count ended when the door was finally barricaded with chairs. I don't know what the final count was, but it would probably have given them alcohol poisoning if they actually went through with their plan.

Some friends that came with us went to see the costume contest and really enjoyed it. They tried to describe their favorite skit, but I couldn't understand a word of it. XD;

Some interesting panels that were at JAFAX that would have been interesting to see were Japanese Food and The Japanese Supernatural. Both of which I am really interested in...but probably to the point where a panel at an anime convention wouldn't teach me anything new, so I didn't go. There was also a panel on Lolita fashion and one on understanding Japanese social structure. Also, various artists, voice actors, costume builders, cosplay actors, anime music video creators (and judges), translators and linguists had panels, but that's normal.
