One of my fabric designs is in a contest!
My Medieval Muguet design is in
Spoonflower's Medieval Designs contest. Voting can be done
here (the bit on the right where it mentions "Medieval" will take you to five pages of designs to vote on). If I win, my design gets printed and made available for sale at no cost to me and I receive $100 in store credit (plus a real-money commission on any sales made from my fabric...or store credit; my choice). Woo!
About my design:
I was attempting to use period-accurate fabric colors, though I threw that bit out the window when I added the green everywhere for the lily of the valley. As the contest did not require any specific palette, many contestants wound up using colors which would not have been found in medieval textiles. All of the minor elements were inspired by several bits from medieval art and fashion. Even the lily of the valley is a stylized version of a heraldic representation of the flower.
