It turns out I've passed the popular culture genres exam with flying colours, so now I can stop worrying about it. I need to wait for two weeks to find out how my History of Finnish Literature exam went and I'm eager to hear the results because the questions weren't easy at all and I think I got two modernist poets mixed up. I'm also doing my best reading through 12 novels/short story collections for the Finnish Prose exam. Some of these novels are rather lengthy but luckily a few of them are short: I've already read through three novels so I should be able to finish them all before the deadline kicks in.
I also hope that I'll have some spare time to finish a few incomplete
tGAWiki articles even though it means I'll have to browse through dozens of pages in RP threads to remind myself of what this and that character actually did in the story. For example, it irks me that the page about
Marcus is still incomplete despite him having a very important role in the recent RP. I'll certainly get his page done once I'm through with other almost complete pages (mainly for the likes of Khasra and Despard) unless someone else beats me to it. I don't know how we're going to reach 1,000 articles in the wiki, though, but there are still quite a few characters, events etc. from earlier tGA RPs to write about so perhaps that'll help us reach the goal. In any case I do like how the wiki has grown from its modest beginnings into a rather comprehensive database of tGA-related information.
It turns out that the movie theatres are still showing The Princess and the Frog and Havukka-ahon ajattelija (Backwood Philosopher) over here. I hope I'll get to see them before they take them down. The
clip with Laura Voutilainen singing "Almost There" in Finnish from The Princess and the Frog sounded ok enough, so I have high hopes that the Finnish dub will be as great as earlier Finnish Disney dubs have been. I'm still not convinced that Reino Nordin is a good choice to voice Naveen but maybe I'll be proven wrong. Time will tell.
Yours,
Mikko
