I just looked at the ballot for next tuesday's election.
http://www.wheredoivotema.com/bal/myelectioninfo.php There's a bunch of people to vote for, and 3 questions to answer. Here's my take:
1. voting for people: Now's the time to respond in my LJ who you think I should or should not vote for, and why. It's likely I'll agree with you if you're on my friends list. But there's a few of the lesser offices that I know neither candidate, and they are of the Democrat or Green party both which are fine parties in my book. I'd appreciate input by anyone.
2. Question 1: liquer in grocery stores. I'm leaning towards saying "yes". Doesn't seem to be any reason not to allow supermarkets to sell alcohol, unless you're a prohibitionist.
3. Question 2: can one person be nominated by more than 1 party, and be on the ballot twice? I read the question, I'm leaning towards "why not?" (i.e. YES) as an answer. The sticking point is that right now, you have to be a member of that new party and that party alone for 90 days prior to the nomination, and I think if you changed parties, you shouldn't have to wait 90 days to be nominated.
4. Question 3: something about childcare. Here's the one I need input on. All you parents out there: what do you think? I can't make heads or tails of that question, don't know which way to lean. Convince me.
Thanks!
