Williamsburg, Day Two :)

Today was incredibly busy. It started out at the quilted clothing exhibit, which I'll share some pictures of in a different post. Just as I was finishing, sadievale called to inform me that she, her mother, her mother's friend, and past_blue had arrived. I met them back at the hotel, and the five of us got ready in my room since theirs wasn't ready. Rather amusing, really.

On the way back to the hotel, I spotted some cows.

And they were sitting! They were sitting cows!

Then we wandered to town, said hi to Sarah, went to eat, wandered a bit, and got arrested.

Silly us, we didn't have papers. So I pulled the Declaration of Independence out of my pocket and asked if this was the paper that was needed. The soldier ripped it out of my hand and even though we made the excuse that we couldn't read and found the parchment in the streed, we were marched off to the stockade, searched, and corrected the spellings of our names for the soldiers, which made them ask again about our literacy skills. We were let go with a warning that we were obviously of good families, and that if this got out, it would be very embarrassing.

So, after we were arrested, I met with sarahnucci for a while. You see, she had been cooking all day.

And then back to the hotel to unwind for a bit--with a stop for yummy iced coffee :)

After a little relaxation, we met with marcine at a picnic she was hosting. It was very relaxing and well, nice. It was in a little walled area--very pretty.

I suppose I still needed a little more recooperation :)

Shoe (and garter!) shot :)

We then went to a dance at the Market Square Tavern. I danced two dances, which weren't called the whole time--my first time for that! Fortunately, I had good partners. One being sadievale :)

Then, someone called out that there were fireworks. We ran to see them. And normally, I don't get excited about fireworks, but for some reason, they were just wonderful.

And then, it was off to Chownings where I hoped to see sarahnucci again, but I think she had retired for the night by then. She does have another day of work ahead. She likes it though :)

I knotted my stays so badly that I had to cut myself out of them. Fortunately, I never shortened the ribbon used to lace the anglaise, so it's long enough for the stays. Huge relief!

Tomorrow, striped dress, actually going in buildings (besides stores), buying a new black hat, fabric, and lavender powder, and a carriage ride are all on the agenda. Yay!
