I decided that I needed yet another set of Regency stays for my Vernet dress. I'm making the
short stays, view C underbust, from Sabine's blog. They seem to be coming nicely I enlarged them using the scale given, and they only seem to need adjusting in the back underarm. I did fit the gussets without the pattern though, as it was just pinning in approximatey sized triangles and adjusting.
Of course, the first time I enlarged them, I had a rather epic math fail--26cm divided by 7 isn't 2.4. I ended up going with a 3.4 inch enlarged square, which matched one of the times I measured. I measured everything from 24-30cm. Measuring yourself is hard :)
They seem to be coming nicely. I'm a little worried that it's too easy. I was very lazy and didn't do a second mockup with the underarm change.
Of course, Koshka insisted on going on the wet patio last night (he loves water!) and sat his muddy kitty self on the unsewn stays. I rinsed most of the mud out, and will get the rest when they're sewn :)
