Monday at the latest. Monday is when these should be done!
That means I can hopefully start the piemontaise Tuesday, then go back to work Wednesday with it started. Then nap all the time. Then go through the dress as quickly as possible. I'm almost sad the petticoat is started--I want to try to beat the three day yellow sacque, but it feels like cheating. Also, this is a style dress I haven't done before, so I shouldn't be so ambitious. And I want to trim with organza pleats that have been hemmed with rolled hems, so maybe it's a very silly ambition. Hemming organza pleats can take days.
I also went ahead and cut another muslin the other day. I figured I may as well when an idea of how to draw it to widen the back struck. It fits (except for the shoulder straps being too long, but that's the sort of thing I expect to fit in the dress itself, like darts and underarms) without a corset, so it should be very close. All of my dresses fit without corsets, and some don't even look that weird, so I do a lot of corsetless fitting. The funny thing with this one is it's very long waisted. Most corsets shorten my waist, this one actually lengthens it. The end of the muslin is hitting exactly on my natural waist. Very different :)
