Wrapper Progress :)

It's coming nicely--I even pinned in the pagoda sleeve muslin and it fit. So the only sleeve adjustments I'm going to have to do are shape, not cap. Whew!
I've had a little needle drama with it. The needle I was using before Costume College has disappeared, so I got out my new size 10 sharps. Two broke. My other choices were size 9 sharps and size 10 quilting. The 9 were just too thick, and while the quilting feel short, they're doing ok. I ordered more size 10 sharps. In all my previous hand sewing I can only remember one needle breaking before, and that was sewing a flounce out of Southern Belle cotton which is just about the densest stuff out there.

And the more I think about it, the more I think I'm going to be a horrible costumer and go 1920s with the robe de style at the 1860s ball. Uh, it's off the shoulder and full skirted? I don't even want to wear my Regency corset. I was wearing it, soft as it is, when my left rib started to hurt. While the corset isn't tight, the shoulder straps do some posture forcing, so I don't think I want to risk that. I'm feeling amazingly better, but at the same time, rehurting is a fear, especially as school starts the Wednesday after the ball for teachers. Uuuuuggghhhhh. Please excuse my whining. It's getting hard to do anything but whine. So, on that note, yay! dress!
