Today was crap, complete and utter crap. Our charge nusrse (hence known as big assed bitch) screwed up and didn't listen a residents complaints, the aids and med nurses complaints about said resident, and in the end the resident took matters into her own hands. At about 4pm the resident told us she was short of breath, we passed this along to the med nurse, who told the BAB. BAB said she was fine and not due for med, true on the meds, not so true on the OK part. Resident complained repetedly to us, we finally got pissed and checked her oxygen saturation (O2 SATS) for ourselves, it was 92. Told med nurse, who told BAB, BAB tells the resident that her O2 sats are fine. An hour later, resident complains again, we repete the chain of reporting, BAB and med nurse check the sats again. They are now at 86, BAB tells resident that she is fine. 7pm resident tells med nurse that she is wanting to go to the hospital, med nurse warns BAB that the resident will call an ambulance if the BAB doesn't do something. 7:30 resident calls 911 on herself, BAB flips and starts blaming anyone in sight.
While the medics are taking the resident out, I was standing about 50 feet from the nursing station talking to the med nurse. Appearently during this time I magically interupted the BAB and made her lose her train of thought so that she forgot to get the report from the medics. Med nurse supports my claim that I was nowhere near BAB when the medics left.
9pm one of aids is supposed to go monitor the smoking room, we are all tied up woth one resident. 9:20 we are done, and we decide that I should go. So I head upstairs. BAB then tells S and M that someone needs to go the smoking, they snottily tell her Erin already went. BAB then chews them out for not going on time. All can say is "bitch is we weren't busy we would have gone on time. Would you rather we neglect our residents."
Then I get home and half the keys on my keyboard including my shift keys, don't work anymore.
