I presented at my first real totally professional grown-up conference this weekend, and it's all sociolinguistics all the time. Quite fun. Also, San Antonio isn't too bad, though the five star hotel where it's taking place sure doesn't hurt.
My presentation was yesterday in a "Portuguese Grammar" panel, and it went really well. I was so nervous beforehand that I thought I was going to hurl, but (as expected) I was fine.
I'm taking a break from presentations now because the plenary talk tonight has two speakers (total of an hour and a half) and I feel like I've been in too many talks yesterday and today. So...possible productivity time. I've had some good networking and seen some old friends from UT, and, in general, I've had a good time.
