And now...an actual post!
I've been meaning to post for awhile now. But life has been pretty hectic (again!) and I'm getting the chance now. So it's going to be a bit of a number post (again) to get everybody caught up and then hopefully, later this week or early next week I can be posting other stuff that doesn't belong in number posts.
1. So Monday the 24th (the day after David and I got engaged), I got a phone call from David saying he'd been in a car accident while leaving work. So I drove up to I-45 just north of I-10 and picked him up. His car was totalled, but surprisingly he was fine (THANK GOD!). I got him back to Angleton before really realizing that I had never driven on that side of Houston before-and I don't really want to do it ever again. We got to Angleton and continued with our plan to have dinner with his mom and sister. We let them get over the accident, before we told them the good news.
2. Tuesday was surprisingly dull. But no paycheck. Marc's Father-in-law is the one who takes care of that and his computer broke. So we had to wait till Wednesday.
3. Wednesday morning-trying to get to work early to pick up my check, deposit it, and then get things done. No such luck. I got pulled over three blocks from work and given my first ever ticket. Expired inspection tag. Which I was going to get changed that afternoon. It was expired by about a month, so there was no way out of the ticket. Finally got off work, deposited my check, changed the inspection, and paid some bills.
4. Friday, David bought a new car. A 2009 Pontiac G-5. He got it for about $16000, because it was used. Good deal.
5. Monday the 31st, David and I had dinner with my dad and stepmom to ask them to help pay for our wedding and such. No word yet, but I'm calling tomorrow to refresh their memory.
6. The rest of the week was just busy at work and home. David and I are slowly getting things done that will help ensure we get to have our own place shortly and our wedding.
7. This Labor Day weekend, I got a three day weekend. YAY!! Saturday, David and I went to Mandy and Jorge's house for a game night. Tim and Tammy met us there and the 6 of us enjoyed time catching up. I need to find time to hang out with Katie-which we'll do soon hopefully. David's going to have to go up to Clear Lake to get measured for his tux soon (for Tim's wedding). I already started arranging it with Tammy.
Sunday David and I started creating our registry. We have one at Target and one at Kohl's. Both are still being updated. But they are for housewarming (assuming we ever get a place to live) and the wedding. Tentative date is set on the registry, but I'm checking on that tomorrow as well.
Today David and I just hung out. It was a very long, though relaxing weekend. So we'll see how this week goes. Hopefully we'll be able to pay off some bills. Every bill we pay off is one bill closer to an apartment or a house.
