Day 26-28: so sorry~
So yeah... Life did this to me for the last few days.

I'm currently out of town at my mom's since it's Mother's Day weekend. Normally I would have just called it good with dinner on the day-of, but her husband passed away from cancer last year so I'm trying to be a good daughter. Trying... trying... I need to go start dinner soon. -_-;;
So on with the meme!
Day 26 - OMG WTF? Final Fantasy moment.
In VIII there were a lot of "wait, what?" moments, but actually IX wins this for me because I'm still baffled by this years later (even though Toffee has explained it a bit to my feeble brain). Anyhow, the end of IX went something like this for me:
After beating up defeating Trance!Kuja...
"Yeah! I did it! Good job everyone. Let's sit back and get ready for our hard-earned final cinema!"
"...Wait, what? What just-?! You know what? That's mean. Well, it sucks to be you, Quina, Freya, Eiko, and Amarant. I'm eating your souls so I can go fight--again."
Blah blah blah... Blah blah...
(Laughing.) "Okay... You have to be kidding me. You HAVE to be kidding me. The finally boss is a giant blue Oscar?" (Snorts.) "Oh, Square... I can't even..." (Pauses cause there are tears in my eyes and I can't see the screen.) "This is really too much. So ridiculous!"
And then the crystal dies... or whatever it was called, I was too busy laughing to pay attention.
I don't know who can take that thing seriously. Every time I think about it I start to laugh. Oh man, oh man... So hilarious.
Day 27 - Best Final Fantasy storyline.
I'm not even going to cut this because it's so obvious at this point, isn't it? I worship FFVII's storyline. There are so many layers of complexity amongst the characters, and in the storyline. It's wonderful, I soak stuff like that up. It really seems to highlight the fact that no one is who they appear to be on the outside. Everyone puts on a front, everyone tries to be someone else and hide who they really are. Because people are fragile, and VII's characters know that. As a result, I love the story so, so much.
Honestly, I feel like we don't see another storyline quite as good until the Treasures of Aht Urhgan and Wings of the Goddess storylines in FFXI. Why? Because games made a shift from story to graphics and battle systems after X. How does an MMO have a good storyline? XI reached the end of its graphical abilities by then, and they weren't adding any other revolutionary core game elements, so they knew they had to focus on creating a strong story to keep players around. Hell, even I reactivated my XI account just to finish the Wings of the Goddess storyline. It was that good. ♥
Day 28 - First Final Fantasy game obsession.
FFVII was the first FF that I played. Obviously it was the first one I was obsessed with as well. =P
Day 29 - Current Final Fantasy game obsession.
Day 30 - Saddest Final Fantasy character death.
Now to go play with the kittens before I have to mess with dinner. There are baby kittens here! So I guess things aren't all bad. I'm hoping I can jump into the ffchaoticcosmos weekend event tonight as well, once the mummers goes to bed. :)
