Day 15!

Apr 24, 2011 22:08

First of all, happy Easter to everyone. Hopefully you all got some candy at least. I'm not at all religious anymore (I grew up that way since my grandfather was a pastor with his own church, though), but I appreciate the candy side of things.

I feel like Bartz and I would be fast friends...

Anyhow! I started playing FFIV on my DS last night, so I'll be slowly working through that in the coming days and weeks, as well as keeping up with writing, proofreading, XIV, and my sick husband. Yay!

I just can't resist Kain... I love dragoons so much. *_* Of course, it makes me miss my Sasavi from XI. :( My precious little wyvern! ♥

But enough rambling, onto the meme!

Day 15 - Favorite Final Fantasy female character.
This is a lot easier than yesterday's, but I still don't have just one answer.

5. Garnet til Alexandros XVII

Just like I love dragoons, I also love summoners. Generally I'm not a huge fan of heroines (as is evident by my short list), but I really loved Garnet. I guess it's because you really get to see her mature over the game, and she learns to grow up and move on. Also, I love her dress and I love the ending of IX--the way she falls into Zidane's arms and then beats on him for giving her such a scare. I generally blubber out a "d'aww" right about then, haha.

4. Lilisette

Lilisette is spunky and cute. She's a lot like Prishe, but she's not quite as amazing. I still love her, though. The XI team did a great job with the Wings of the Goddess expansion pack, and I think Lilisette is the main reason so many people love the storyline. (The Cait Siths and Aquila also help, IMO. ;])

3. Aphmau (Empress Nashmeira)

Oh Aphmau, what can I say about you? Aphmau won my heart when she spied on a conversation at the Tea House by laying on the veranda with her puppets keeping her from falling off. I fell in love with her as she fell in love with Luzaf, and cheered her on through their heartbreaking romance. Thanks to Luzaf's sacrifice she was able to live anew and found the strength to rule her Empire... And when Odin Prime came out I kept going back to challenge the avatar in hopes of freeing Luzaf's soul and making her happy again. The Treasures of Aht Urhgan storyline was so great (it even had Trion in it!), and Aphmau really shined. ♥

2. Prishe

I think that if it wasn't for Duodecim, Aphmau would have beaten Prishe in my line-up. After Duodecim, though, I found a new love for the crass little monk. Honestly, there are still many points in the Chains of Promathia storyline where I get lost, but Prishe's strong character always kept me amused. Prishe was a lot like a younger me, but I couldn't handle the coolness. x) I love her spunk, I love the life in her character, I love her resolve to do what's right even if it means her life has to end, I love that she never backs down, and I love how she keeps cheering the player character on. I also love how she heckles the three Tarutaru siblings and I find it hilarious each time she completely ignores you during the fight with Promathia and bum-rushes his second form, whether you're ready or not.

Speaking of the Promathia fight, I was always told to keep an eye on Prishe (because if she or Selh'teus die, you lose the fight and have to start over--and I'm almost always the healer in my group), but she's completely self sufficient. She gets an extra vote of love for that. Thank you for making my job easy, Prishe!

1. Aerith

I bet no one saw this coming! >_> Heh, but yeah, Aerith is my all-time favorite Final Fantasy lady. She's beautiful inside and out. She does what she has to do even though she knows what's coming for her as a result. She has a strong mind and knows what she wants. With Zack, even though she knew he was a SOLDIER--which she's initially afraid of--she gives him a chance and finds things to love about him, like his eyes. She's straight-forward, she's nurturing; even the cheerful Zack let his guard down around her, and the stoic Cloud slowly lets her in. She's smart, she's stubborn, and she hides all of her pain and uncertainty behind a brave, sweet smile.

To me, Aerith is the epitome of awesome. She's just great, and I love her to pieces. All my love, Aerith baby, all my love! ♥

All of my favorite ladies are pretty self-sacrificing... Huh. I guess they're just traits I find really admirable. If you'd like a few runner-ups, here they are:

Yuna, Penelo, Vanille, Yuffie, Rikku.

I have a feeling Rydia will be joining the list but that's just based on speculation right now. She's so adorable, though. ♥

So yeah! Enjoy your Easter candy, I know I will. :) (Also, I just booked mine and my husband's flights for our anniversary this summer; Disney World, here we come! So excited! ...And very mature.)

EDIT: I just saw a headline that read:

"Severe thunderstorm warning in Dallas! Strongest part of the storm from downtown to Garland."

Then I looked at my husband and said, "looks like Garland is wreaking havoc with those cyclones again!" Yeah... Maybe that should be my sign to stop being such a nerd.

In other news, yes, it does make me giggle when I say I live close to Garland (a small city near here). Harharhar. :}
