[OOC - Drabble: Letter (Writer's Choice)]

Dec 09, 2006 04:02

Drabble theme: Letter
Characters: Starfire
Notes: This takes place in a future-tense for the Starfire I roleplay; this was just a "what-if?" thing I ran with. I don't reveal the obvious, like who the father is, but Starfire does explain her daughter a little bit in this in a form of letters written to her k'norfka and her friend, Terra. She's writing a letter to her k'norfka, Galfore, and explaining what's been going on in her life.

Also note: the name Mar'i means "Nightstar," and Mar'i is actually a character from the graphic novel Kingdom Come by Alex Ross. In the graphic novel, she's the daughter of Starfire and Nightwing, but in this case, Nightwing may or may not be the father (since, lulz, no Robin/Starfire interaction has gone down at all with this Starfire's roleplaying canon since I've started playing her). I used the name because I figured Starfire would personally adore the name and wish to name her daughter that no matter what.

And, ahaha, one last night: Blackfire is the empress of Tamaran in this "what if? fic. Since Blackfire-mun is roleplaying the character and developing her past her "lulz evil sister" image, I can easily see her Blackfire really changing her ways and properly taking her right to the throne with much more responsibility. ^^; She's much different from the comic's canon.

My k'norfka, Galfore,

You will be happy to know that I have successfully given birth to my daughter, Mar'i, since the last time I have sent you a letter. I do not think that words can begin to describe the beauty that my little Mar'i was blessed with. Her hair is not similar to my own, for it is much darker than my own, but her father has commented that she shares much of my characteristics, one of them including my green eyes. She is a joy for the both of us, but I do not think my daughter quite understands that her parents need to sleep through the night if she wishes for us to be awake in the morning. She has also proven to share a stubborn streak that she did not pick up from the both of us!

I am doing just fine, Galfore. I have been warned about the condition that my mother was in after she had given birth to me and I took your words to heart. So far I have not been having problems with strange things. We have both been very mindful of these things.

We both plan to visit Tamaran as soon as I am in the proper condition to travel outside of our home. I wish for you to meet my husband. Although, it may take longer to see Mar'i, for I do not think her father is comfortable with the idea of bringing her with when I told the stories of attacks that my team and I had to engage in while space traveling.

I am sick for the planet Tamaran, but I am grateful that you understand why I have chosen to stay here, Galfore. I trust that you are doing well, and I hope that my sister Blackfire is doing what is right for Tamaran. Is she doing all right as well?
