Starfire looks up at the door. She is still shaken up by what had happened, and the knocking seemed to have caught her offguard. Gulping, she called out. "It is open, Aqualad."
She nods at Aqualad, and gets more comfortable, knowing that it really is just him. After what had happened in the Nexus, she wasn't entirely sure of anything at the moment. "Something ...has happened, Aqualad." She bites her lip a bit before saying, "It is hard to explain, though."
Starfire nods. She is quiet for awhile, until she reasons out the story in her mind. "It was...there was something in that place called the Nexus. It kept asking why. I asked what they had meant, and..."
She was choking on tears, still visibly upset over it, but holds it back as she goes on with her story, "and it started to call me name. And it started telling me that everyone would leave me someday, and that I would be left alone."
She shakes her head. "I was not sure how to feel about it, though, when it was happening. It kept calling me an outsider, and... I did not understand. I still do not understand. Why would it say such things to trick people?"
Starfire felt a bit of comfort by that. It had been true. Even Aqualad was here with her, speaking with her, and trying to reassure her of these things. Smiling, just a little, she wiped at her eyes, trying to wipe off the tears. "I thank you, Aqualad, for your kind words. I suppose that you are correct. I do not know why it was bothering me so much. I just... there are many things that are on my mind right now."
Curious about what he was talking about, with the betrayal, she asked, "Tell me, Aqualad, who has such a thing to make you feel that way?"
Starfire was at a loss of words at first, with his response to the subject of Aquaman. Nodding, she said, "That is good to hear, then. Then I must ask you, Aqualad: how will I ever be able to get past what has happened between me and my sister?" The frown still remained on her face as she explained, "The other day, I went to visit my sister, and I do not think it went so well. I think she was in a hurry to get me to leave. It is...I just feel like there seems to be no hope."

Come on, that thing was obviously lying to you. It happens. -_- They use words to trick people, and prey on the things they're concerned about.
Look at us. Are any of your friends showing any signs of going away?

Sometimes... sometimes people aren't capable of doing the right thing. They're like the bad guys we fight. They're just selfish.
*puts a hand on her shoulder* Come on, Star. You're a Teen Titan. A hero to the city. Who would just up and abandon you like that?

"My sister did." She sighed, saying, "She was more than willing to put me aside for her own needs, and I do not even know why."

I know how you feel. Once... once someone very important kept something from me. When I found out, I felt hurt. Betrayed.
But the whole world isn't like that, Starfire... Beast Boy, Cyborg, Robin, Raven, Terra. They're not like that.

It was Aquaman. My mentor.

No, no. Seriously, I'm past it.
Come on Star. It's... it's old news. This is about you, anyway. You need help.
Aquaman's ancient history for me.
