It’s cold, dark, and humid, reminding him of the cells of the lowest level of Impel Down. But there is a certain lack of the stench of blood, unwashed bodies, and the lingering acrid scent of the wardens who had to venture through the burning level four to reach where they’d hidden him. It made him shiver and let his logia’s flames dance to remind him that there is warmth, no seastone to chase it away till he felt helpless and empty.
And then Marco’s arms are around him, little blue flames dancing across the bare skin to match his red and orange flames. The warmth and closeness of another living person helps drive the helplessness and depression away. But there was still that hole in his heart, where so many of his friends had been held that he had now seen buried either in earth or ocean. It made him wonder so many times if he was worth it. And most of the times there was that little voice in his head that whispered to him that no, he wasn’t worth that much spilt blood and condemned souls. But Marco was there for him this night, and the voice was silent, smothered beneath the phoenix’s blue flames.
They shared no words, only feelings. He cried some; huge, wracking sobs that threatened to tear him apart but for those steady, warm arms that held him close, those calloused hands that smoothed his hair and stroked his back, those sift lips murmuring words to him that he just couldn’t think enough to process, but they were comforting none-the-less. And once the tears were dry, leaving him feeling like some empty husk without all that sorrow and pain, those lips were laying gentle kisses on his forehead, nose, then finally his lips. He yielded everything left in his mind and body to the older man, letting him chase away the depression with his quiet, and warm, passion. Teeth grazed his sensitive skin, lips laid tantalizing kisses, a deft tongue teased tender flesh, hands traced muscles and bone structures and scars, all driving that throbbing need within him burning. Before long he was whining and begging the phoenix to do whatever he pleased with him, so long as his needs were met.
