Girlschool was the first rock band I ever saw live (in 1982, at Reunion Arena in Dallas, opening for Iron Maiden and the Scorpions). I had a major case of the hots for the bass player in the band at the time (Gil Weston). They are still around and still good, although they've gone through so many lineup changes that I've lost count over the years of who's played when. Fun trivia fact: Kathy Valentine (bassist for the GoGos) was one of the original members, although she wasn't in the band long enough to actually record anything that I know of.
