Times change, and for the worse it seems.  I watch my friends go about their lives, but there is hesitation in their eyes and concern on their lips.  The voices coming out of the large box in the  lounge speak of trouble in the city, something I am acutely aware of as I walk the streets.  Masked individuals raise their voices and rail against my pack and I, haranguing us for our efforts.  Thus far, the consequences of their actions have been cosmetic in nature, but it is difficult to say just what will happen in the future when dealing with such individuals.

And yet, despite all that is happening, I feel a sense of peace.  Death is something we all face every day, even more so when we travel into the den of darkness that is Tartarus, and I certainly do not wish it upon any in my pack or anyone else for that matter.  But for me, the answer is not obscured by terse situations or foreshadowing; it will always be the same:

We must continue to refine our skills as hunters, our teamwork as a pack and use said skills and teamwork to kill every shadow we find.

I confess I do not understand them as well as others in the pack, but when I see a shadow upon the other side of the battlefield, I understand that I face an opponent that neither asks for nor offers quarter.  It seeks to extinguish life and replace it with a listless shell that is denied even the peace of death.  It is surprising to me then, that even armed with such knowledge, there are those in the pack that seem hesitant.  Perhaps in the face of an eternity of nothingness, we are reminded of our mortality...

Regardless, I will not allow myself to be deterred: I will protect my friends, my home and the memory of my old master.  I will stand vigilantly in the face of the coming darkness until it is time to sink my blade into the tender flesh of our common enemies.

*In light of recent events seen on the news and during his walks around the city, Koromaru seems more active, more alert then normal.  He has also begun staying at the Shrine for several hours during the weekdays and always heads over to Gekkoukan once school is out to check on his friends making their way out to the dorms or into the city.*
