Deal Me In

Thanks to Mitch, I am now semi-versed in Texas Hold 'Em, and I think the refresher with Chris C. beforehand will help me out. I just wanted to learn the game a bit, get used to the basics and all before we got together.
Thanks to Dorcas, I now know how ridiculously simple a game it is. Now to formulate a strategy...

This week at work has been pretty good - I'm getting more and more comfortable there every day. I'm still learning, but if you get to a point in life where you no longer learn anything new, it's time to get off the pot.
I sometimes feel like I'm annoying others when I ask questions, or awkward when I try to explain a problem. But hey, I'm 21. If I'm gonna go anywhere with ANBL, I've gotta take some o' dem dere baby steps.

I bought three things over the past couple days. Online, I got the soundtrack to Shadows of the Empire, the old Nintendo 64 game. Ever since it came out, I've been wishing and hoping that there would be another game based on the Expanded Star Wars Universe (i.e. the books), because that game was damn near perfect.
I also got Battle for Naboo for Nintendo 64 - used, which I didn't know you could do so easily over Amazon.ca. Killer.

I also got the Chappelle's Show Season 2 DVD... hopefully, it won't be the last season for the show....

I watched Chronicles of Riddick last night... I was unsure of what to think of the plot, as it is a completely different movie than its predecessor, Pitch Black. The latter is sci-fi horror, while the former is sci-fi religioso-Nazi-like-oppression in nature.
Two different movies, same kickass character, both rock.

Just finished watching Episode I: The Phantom Menace, along with its special features a little while ago.
Notes;
-My appreciation for this film has dwindled a bit since '99, but mostly because it's so hard a believe a little kid like Anakin came become the epitome of evil
-Jake Lloyd, as sad as this is, was the best choice for the role of Anakin
-Jar-Jar, while annoying, could've been OK if he'd have just been toned down... just a tad.
-"The Phantom Menace" as a title now makes alot more sense
-Even if my suspension of disbelief is a little scattered from all the tearing apart this flick has had, I'm able to consider this a worthy introduction to the rest of the movies.

In other words, I still dig The Phantom Menace quite a bit more than the average guy.

I might be going to Revenge of the Sith for a second time on Saturday... if I can somehow get a word on things before then....
