OK, so two sweet things happened yesterday.
The first was seeing (and buying) System of a Down's new CD Mesmerize. WHAT A WICKED CD! It's much the same as their other albums in that they stuck with their bouncy and catchy riffs, yet different in that they decided to experiment a little bit more.
B.Y.O.B. is a kick ass song, however there's a whole whack of them (Cigaro, Violent Pornography to name a couple) to whet your appetite for their second half of this double album, due out six months from now (?).
Can't wait...
The other thing was kinda "hu-idge", and retired Scot racecar driver Jackie Stewart would say. Revenge of the Sith; the final Star Wars movie.
I had my doubts going in - I knew it might be a bit cheesy at some points... then I realized that all of the other five episodes had cheesy and poorly acted moments, so why should I care?
What a friggin' great movie. Of course I say that because I am in love with the franchise (movies, games, books, you name it), but also because I loved the way it was made.
The acting was head and shoulders above that of the first two episodes.
The visuals, as expected, blew me away.
The story, even if we know what happens, still managed to be suspenseful and never seems to slow down.
I won't say anymore because I don't want to spoil anything - I will say, however, that the final hour of the movie is incredibly... effective.
Peace out! See yas on Sunday!
