Liquid Plumr

A week of too much drama revolving around the theatre company I work with, and not the good kind of drama. Ugh.

Butter has started having daily playdates with her big sister, Zoe, and they are doing wonders for her disposition, and, secondarily, mine. They really go at it, but there's no yelping or anger -- just good, clean, poodle fun. OK, maybe Butter's biting and pulling of Zoe's ears isn't quite clean, but still, they seem to be having a ton of fun! Proof is below. By the way, I've watched this video way too many times today. (And I recommend not listening too closely to the words of this song, as it's, well, uncomfortably misogynistic.)

T and I had a good talk last night -- it's always hard when one of us is in or working on a show. When you only see each other for the first 15 minutes and last hour of each day (with a half hour thrown in sometimes for dinner), communication lines tend to get clogged. We basically needed to apply the emotional equivalent of drano, and hopefully it worked.

We went to our first Badger football game on Saturday, which was quite fun (T's boss gave us tickets). T and I both went to Iowa, but I rooted for Wisconsin (I didn't get my degree at Iowa, after all). The game itself was fun; the tailgating and walk to the stadium beforehand were too much for me. Wow. Way too many people who had spent the entire day drinking. Seriously -- wow.

Hot and humid; a storm is a-comin'. Puppy class tonight. I really dread puppy class. I just get way too self-conscious. Thank goodness Butter is a dream. She makes it easier. I've found that puppy class is a little less hard to get through when I treat myself to a Happy Meal afterwards. Say what you want, but there is something soothing about getting a toy with your food, especially when the food includes french fries, which I almost never have anymore. I'm a woman of simple (some would say bad) tastes.
