We just heard from the breeder -- our puppy will be ready for pick-up on the weekend of August 18th. It seems terribly far away, but also terribly close. We have a lot of preparation and reading and learning to do before then!
Today, tomorrow and Saturday are project days. Trying to do all the house and yard projects that we've been putting off for the past year or so in order to have everything done before the puppy arrives. There's not that much, really, though some of the projects are a little ambitious (the new gate on the side of the house will be a lot of work, especially since it will be in the path of numerous flowers that will have to be moved). It always seems, though, that one project starts a domino effect of other projects you didn't even realize you had to do -- I can already predict this will be the case. Oh well. It keeps us busy and takes our minds off of the fact that we still have to wait over 6 weeks until puppy time.
I'm going to tell my parents about the puppy on Sunday. I expect disapproval. Not that they don't like dogs. They just don't like it when I do things that they wouldn't do. I know -- how old am I? But I'm hoping once they see the photos, they might soften up. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but am not very hopeful.
Speaking of puppies, I see Zoe out the window. She's so pretty!
