Honestly, I read it, and the next day I could not remember what it was about.

Can I skip the other three hundred and fifty pages, or will I miss some deep dark timeless secret that everybody up to and including comedy film writers already knows?

Addition: When the secret password in Lord of the Rings is "melon", it's funny. When the secret password in The Da Vinci Code is "apple", it's lame. If you're going to try and pull something that weak, you'de better have an ironic grin on your face and a sly look in your eye.

I wonder if it was supposed to be an Adam/Eve/Snakey reference or something lame like that...

Adam: Where'd you get that?
Eve: The Snakey gave it to me.
*pop*
*Baby cries*

I'm not going to hell. They're afraid of me there.

Also: If having a pistol on the mantle in the first act means that someone will be shot in the third, then I suppose it follows that a rocket launcher on the mantle in the first act means that a helicopter will be shot in the third act, even if it is unlikely in the extreme that there should be any helicopter at all anywhere in your metaphor.
