I'm sorry, but I've been away for four days and there's only so many I can go back. I'm pretty tired and pretty sick, so I apologize. Is there anything I *ought* to see?
Brief sum-up of my weekend:
Wonderful time in Winona/Trempealeau. Actually hung out as an adult with my FIL and SMIL, and had a very sweet time with them. In fact, my FIL left a message on my cell this afternoon concerned about Monday's appointment with
Dr. Hanauer. Dr. Hanauer: We actually got a lot of doctor time, which is unusual for such a busy hospital. 7 vials of blood drawn. Results indicate that all my levels are normal, except for my C-reactive level, which is 101 (normal range 1-5). This indicates that I am in a flare, which I could have told you a month ago. (They'd figured it out, too; it's just good to get levels.)
End result: I will be taking two shots of Humira every week, which is, if you've been playing along, a quadruple dose. If it doesn't work in a few weeks, though, Humira is out, Cimzia is in.
The bad part is that they're sticking me on prednisone again for the short term. This is good because I will feel much better in a matter of hours; sucks because (again if you've been playing along) prednisone makes me hear voices, among other side effects. I'm doing a 40-30-20 blitz, so maybe it won't get to that point. And my honeymoon is close enough that I won't have moonface for every picture.
I'm mostly very depressed at how fast my body has built a tolerance and what few choices I have left. Very, very depressed.
