The highlight of the night was an awful pun.
That's the Ellenator.
She made moussaka. Moussaka with potato, lamb mince, eggplant, bechamel sauce and cheese. We nommed it good.
And some stuffed baked tomatoes. Stuffed with rice, dill, tomato insides, onions and more cheeses. That was nommy too. (Also, Christmas biscuits, but scroll down for that.)
Paulface. Turkey.
"My contributions seem... poultry compared to Elle's."
By the way, the apples strike back. Biyan wanted to make apple crumble. Again. But couldn't because we had too many desserts already. Again.
Why we averted from apple crumble:
Gingerbread stars. Linzertorte. (It's a European jam tart, from places like Hungary and Austria. Jammy raspberry filling, with a spiced pastry. It's usually eaten at Christmas.) I don't even like pastry, or jams, or jam tart, but I like linzertorte.
But wait, there's more!
Mini panettone. Served with danish butter. (Panettone is a Milanese sweet cakey bread with dried fruits, such as currants, sultanas and candied orange peel. It's also usually eaten for Christmas.)
Nope, still haven't reached Elle's christmas biscuits yet.
But enough talk about desserts for now, let's have something more substantial before hitting the desserts again.
Entree is a cheese platter, with slices of ham and salami, globe grapes, slices of nectarine and pieces of rockmelon.
Then we played Guitar Hero.
Gendo is ace at this game. I got booed off stage in record time. However, Paul still wins at this game.
Margular made potato cakes.
But they needed a little more time in the pan, and a bit more salt.
In the end, it was great.
Then dinner, where the awful pun struck.
Then we watched Men in Tights. Call the loooocksmith!
Throughout the entire time, I had desserty thoughts.
Finally, dessert time!
There. Those biscuits. In that cake tin, with cupcake motifs, and biscuits inside. I will never get over that.
Afterwards, we had some scotch on rocks.
After the initial burning, it actually tastes quite nice. You learn something new everyday.
We also got a little souvenir to take home (plus the leftovers.)
There are iced sugar biscuits inside. There are even sprinkles on them. There's also a super-cayenne pepper chocolate biscuit too, but I haven't been game enough to try that *just yet*. Maybe after dinner.
