An hour (and a great deal of yelling) later, Yamapi, Jin, and Ryo had come to an agreement in that they would never agree. Ueda refused to help Ryo at all, preferring to spend his time sulking in the corner and shooting wimpy death glares at Jin. Ryo had been especially volatile, and more than once the other band members desperately pried his fingers from Yamapi's or Jin's neck.
It had taken both Tego and Massu to calm Ryo down enough for him to start form sentences that didn't end with "because Jin and Pi's IQ's combined are still smaller than half of Jin's love handles!" (They'd enveloped him in a Tegomass sandwich and pouted adorably until his face had returned to its normal color. And then he told them to get off in a very gruff voice.)
When Ryo composed himself enough to talk, he'd said: "I'm only going to say this once. We're going to pick judges and they will decide everything. I've had enough of trying to deal with you two. Ueda, stop being a girl and sulking. You're not nearly pretty enough to mope in the corner. Either do it in a broom closet where I don't have to see you or be constructive."
Ueda finally stood up and headed over to the group. "I think," he said darkly. "That you three miscreants need to stop fighting over who the judges are. You should have one from NewS, KAT-TUN, and to provide an objective judge," although, as Ryo noted, Ueda didn't sound as if he thought any person associated with JE could be objective-or even sane-"someone from Arashi."
"Uebo-hime! Awesome idea!" Jin said, enveloping Ueda in a hug.
"GET OFF JIN!"
"Jin, you should probably stop crushing my partner to death with all your fat."
Jin pouted.
Ryo turned back towards Ueda, and making sure he caught the other boy's eyes, Ryo gave a mock salute, before turning back to Yamapi. "Alright, Pi. We'll pick the three judges," he said in a voice that said ‘I will pick them and you'll agree because I know what's right and you're a complete idiot.'
"Hey!" Ueda and Jin said at the same time.
And that was how Tego, Kame, and Nino became judges.
Tego was the only one who took the news seriously. "I will judge this fairly and with all of my ability," he had declared solemnly and wide-eyed.
The other two just laughed.
"You want me to create competitions for you and then judge them?" Nino laughed hysterically. "Oh this is going to be goooood!"
Kame laughed until he realized that Jin and Yamapi weren't playing a joke on him again. Then he'd given a long suffering sigh directed at Ryo, as if this was all Ryo's fault. Ryo glared back.
"Don't even think of saying no, you monkey boy. And your eyebrows look terrible today. Did you get too close to a fire?"
Kame's mouth opened and closed a couple times before he pulled himself together and stiffly addressed Jin, Yamapi, and Ueda, who'd buried his face in his hands.
"I accept your invitation." Kame glared at Ryo and then stalked off to find Tego and Nino.
It was only when Ueda said, "Nice one, Ryo. Not like you just insulted one of our judges or anything." That Ryo realized that might not have been the best thing to do. Oh well, he though, screw Kame. Whatever he throws at me, I'll hit it back so hard, his girly eyebrowed self won't even know what hit him.
Then he grabbed Ueda to go talk strategy.
"So, why are we going to say mean things about Yamapi and Jin?" Ueda asked hesitantly from the inside of a broom closet.
"It's called trash-talking, idiot." Ryo sneered. "We're going to psychologically demoralize them before the game even begins. That way, they'll be so upset, they'll have lost before the games even start."
Ryo watched Ueda process the words. Ueda shifted his eyes to the ground before starting to talk again. "But, um, that's what you do on a normal basis. How is this going to help?"
"I wouldn't expect a complete idiot like you to understand. Just do what I say and the next time that you see Jin and Yamapi, say something mean. Or I'll do something even worse to you." Ryo said threateningly.
Ueda winced by nodded quietly. "Sure. Whatever."
Ryo nodded triumphantly and opened the door. They emerged just as Massu walked by, eating a snack.
"Mphlhphmm looking for you. I think the judges are going to announce the first challenge. I think Kame also said something about points off for lateness." Massu said through his food. Without even responding, Ryo took off running in the direction of the dressing rooms. Ueda watched him run before starting to walk after him.
"Thanks Massu," he called back.
"COME ON PRINCESS! If you make us late, I will make your life a living hell!"
"You mean more than it is now?" Ueda mumbled under his breath.
"I HEARD THAT!"
"You better hurry," Massu said, attempting to be helpful. "Sometimes he gets really angry." Ueda sighed and ran after Ryo.
Ryo followed the loud noise to one of the dressing rooms and found what looked like all of JE packed into the room. Several chairs had been pushed together to create a podium of sorts, which Kame was now stepping up to.
"Attention, attention!" Kame called out. "Now that our other group has finally arrived…" he smiled sweetly at Ryo. Ryo forced himself to not maul Kame now. Killing a judge definitely wouldn't help him win the competition. "We can begin."
Just then, Ueda entered the completely quiet room. He glanced over at Ryo, who glared back. Ueda looked frightened for a second before pulling himself together. He gave Ryo a wary look and then cleared his throat. A second before Ueda began to speak, Ryo realized in blind horror what Ueda was about to do.
"Yamapi and Jin combined have the intellect of a small peanut, are highly annoying, and their hip thrusts aren't nearly what they used to be. Sad, really." Ueda finished condescendingly. Oddly enough, Ryo felt quite proud for a second before he went to hit Ueda for his incredibly bad timing.
When the commotion had settled down several minutes later, Ryo was still informing Ueda of just how pathetic his very existence was. How even Jin and Pi had better timing and that only an idiot would try and demoralize their opponents in FRONT OF JUDGES. Yamapi was attempting to comfort a very hurt Jin, and Nino and Kame were laughing so hard, they were in danger of spontaneously combusting.
"I think I'm going to enjoy this very much," Nino said as he tried to get everyone's attention again. "It is with a great deal of pleasure that I get to announce our first competition," he continued. "We will be doing a favorite among us at Johnny's: dressing up as girls. Except this isn't to see which team makes the prettier girls or who has the best costume. We will all be grading you on costume, personality, and believability AND you will also be scored by a group of actual girls. You have until tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. to prepare everything."
"The competition begins at 10 a.m. sharp, so everyone better be on time." Kame said looking in Ryo's direction.
Ryo smiled as Nino and Kame continued on with the details. Ueda should give a great deal of thanks to my superior intellect, he thought. Because, I happen to have to perfect idea. As usual.
NEXT UP! Is Ryo's idea really perfect? How will the first competition turn out? Will there be lots of confusion, yelling, and cross dressing? Most definitely.
