1. Seduction
Jin put on his sexy shirt, form fitting jeans and chapstick. (It made his lips look even better!) Tonight he planned to take Yamapi out to dinner, where Jin would slowly seduce him. He'd even made a checklist:
Look sexy (check)
reservation at a place with a "romantic atmosphere" (check)
lots of drinks during dinner
several slow and lingering "accidental" touches
confession
kiss
Unfortunately, Jin never made it past dinner. (Jin, it's so dark in here! And what's with all the smoke? It's irritating my eyes. You know, I'm really just in the mood for pizza. Let's go, mmkay?)
2. Love Letter
Jin spent at a week writing down everything he felt in a letter. His first draft was a little too honest… (I like being with you, but, more importantly, I kind of think about jumping you all the time.)
His second draft really failed to convey his romantic sentiments. (You're my best friend and I love hanging out with you. I'd just like to be friends in new and interesting ways!)
The third letter captured Jin's love perfectly. (You're my best friend and I love everything about you. You laugh at my jokes and always understand me, even when I can't understand myself. I can't imagine life without you because I've fallen in love. ) Jin had the perfect!plan. He would give the letter to Pi as they were leaving work the next day. That way, no one else would see the letter and Jin wouldn't have to worry about Pi losing it at work.
So, the next day, Jin made sure that Pi was by himself as Pi walked to the entrance of the building. Jin wished himself luck, called out for Pi to hold up, and then gave him the letter. Pi gave Jin a curious look as Jin explained that he wanted Pi to read the letter later. Jin felt super proud of himself as he exited the building…but before he could get to the pat on the back, he realized it was raining. He turned around to warn Pi and saw that the letter had already gotten completely soaked. (Sorry Bakanishi! What was in the letter anyway? Hey, I'm all soaked! Let's go grab a drink and some pizza. )
3. Role-Playing
"Hey Pi, want to play a game?"
"Sure why---wait. Is this going to be like last time where we "played" doctor and patient? If so, can I be the doctor this time?"
"Oh Yes!...Wait. NO! This is serious, k? Let's pretend that I'm Ryo and you're Uchi. And--"
"I don't want to be Uchi! If I'm going to play, I want to be a good one. How about Shige? Can I be Shige?"
"Sure, fine. But just say, that I, AS RYO, were to--"
"Actually I want to be Uchi."
"Ok. Fine, be whoever you want to be! But, let's just say that I were to confess that--"
"OH MY GOD! What's Ryo's secret?! Tell me! Tell me!"
"This isn't actually Ryo's secret, but a pretend one, so be quiet for one minute! What if I saidthatIlikeyou?"
"Ryo likes Uchi? I'm telling everyone!"
"No, he doesn't! But what if he did and you were Uchi and I was Ryo, what would you say?"
…
"Pi…? Where'd you go?"
"Hey everyone! Guess who Ryo likes?"
4. Outright confession
Jin was going to confess and he was going to do it tonight. He had a foolproof plan. He'd invite Pi over for pizza and video games, and tell Pi outright. For extra good luck, he wore his invincible shoes (guaranteed to make him "impervious to harm"!) and his good luck t-shirt. When Pi came, Jin would wait until Pi settled down and then tell him. In order to make sure Jin didn't mess up, he'd even written out a speech and memorized it.
At 8 o'clock, Pi knocked. (Jin, hurry up and answer the door! I have to pee!) He quickly said hello before running to the bathroom. (Bakanishi, what took you so long? Why are you wearing your invincible shoes? I'll be back in a second.) After Pi had eaten 5 slices of pizza, Jin figured that he was ready to tell him.
"Pi, I have something to tell you, and I want you to hear me out before you interrupt. Ok?" (So far, everything had gone according to the script! Go Jin!)
"Sure!"
Jin paused. What came next? WHAT CAME NEXT? He searched his memory urgently, but nothing came up. After several moments of frustrated silence, everything just poured out.
"I'm sorry Pi, I had everything memorized, but now it's all forgotten. And I tried so hard. I just wanted to tell you that I'm in love with you, but I keep messing it up. This was my fourth time, and if I can't do it now, then I'll never be able to say it. I'm sorry! I can never get it right…Let's just go play video games." Pause
"Bakanishi. You just did."
"Did what?"
"Confess."
"What? Confess what?"
"You just confessed to me."
"No I didn-oh. Huh?" Jin's brain desperately tried to catch up. Pi rolled his eyes and gave a little smile.
"Bakanishi." Pi leaned towards Jin and gave him a soft kiss before intertwining his and Jin's fingers. "Four times, huh? I guess I'll just have to make it up to you."
