There was only one knock and then no more. Ryo turned to look at Yamapi over the stack of pillows between them that they'd been using as an arm rest, "Expecting someone?"
Yamapi shrugged before taking a sip of his beer. "It's Christmas, nobody'd come over here. They know better."
Ryo gave him a pointed look.
"You don't count, ass. You're as much of a Scrooge as I am." Yamapi took another sip before turning his attention to whatever crap television ran on Christmas Eve night. He stared before realizing that they were watching themselves perform on Music Station. "Why the fuck are we watching this?"
Ryo shrugged. "The only interesting thing on."
"You're just saying that because you like watching yourself, egotistical much?" Yamapi snarked.
"You say that like it's a surprise," Ryo laughed.
There was another knock - they exchanged looks again, and then a whining voice filtered through the air. "Piiiiiii, I know you're homeeeeee."
Ryo gave Yamapi a wide smirk. "Your dog wants to be let in."
Yamapi grumbled as he got up from the couch. "My dog should know how to enter himself."
"I forgot where you keep your emergency key!" the voice exclaimed through the door, sounding offended. Yamapi flung it open to face Jin, who had a bottle of wine in one hand and a small silver Christmas tree tucked under his other arm. "Yo~"
Yamapi stared for a long minute before stepping back and letting the door slam in front of him, walking back into his living room.
"Hey!" Jin exclaimed, pushing the door open again and walking inside. "That's not a very Christmas-y thing to do." He closed the door behind him, even making sure to lock it, before entering the living room. "Oh! Ryo's here too!" His eyes light up in excitement. "We're all together!"
Ryo stared at Jin, then to Yamapi who'd settled back into his seat, "Why the hell'd you let Akanishi in for?"
"You told me to!"
"And you listen to everything I say? I knew I should've been called leader." Yamapi rolled his eyes. Jin settled into the love seat next to Ryo, setting the Christmas tree on table in front of them. He then turned to Ryo and Yamapi with a wide grin.
"Move that monstrosity," Ryo snapped just as Jin leaned over to place a Santa hat firmly on his head. Jin threw the other one at Yamapi, sitting back in his seat, as though he'd done the world's greatest job right then. Ryo looked at Yamapi and said seriously, "Kick him out."
Jin sputtered. Loudly. Then he squawked when Yamapi went, "Sure."
"You wouldn't kick out your bestest best friend on Christmas! Where's your holiday spirit?!" Jin pouted.
Yamapi looked at him lazily, "You've known me for how long?"
Jin shrugged. "Could always change."
Ryo threw a pillow at Jin who had now been ignoring him, "Move that damn tree! It's blocking the television!"
Jin looked at the television as he leant over to touch the tree - maybe to take it himself, or to push it out of the way - before he said, "Oh! It's our turn!"
"Never mind," Ryo sighed, "You can leave it."
Jin frowned, thinking he was missing something here, but he just chalked it up to Ryo being ornery. "So who's up for alcohol!" Jin cheered, lifting up the bottle of wine. Ryo and Yamapi both raised their bottles of beer before clinking the bottles together. Jin pouted, "I mean good alcohol."
"I don't say anything about your girly choices of drinks. You don't make fun of our beer," Ryo retorted.
"Hey!" Jin's protests were drowned out by the sound of NewS' Weeeek being played on the television.
"Oh, it sounds like us again! Move your fucking tree." Jin threw him a weird look - it was only their promotional video, but he listened anyway. He watched as Yamapi and Ryo tapped their foot to the beat of the song - it was a little catchy. Smiles were slowly appearing on their faces, and Jin couldn't help but grin. He got up, placing the tree next to his chair and yanked Ryo onto his feet first, as he swayed his hips from side to side - his hands on Ryo's hips as he tried to make the male do the same.
"Idiot, it isn't that kind of song," Ryo laughed, but he was starting to move of his own accord.
Jin grinned, pushing the table to the side slightly with his leg, and grabbed Yamapi's already out-stretched hands. His hands automatically went to Yamapi's hips, to do the same as he'd done for Ryo, but Yamapi was a lot more willing and had already started dancing. Jin laughed, grabbing Yamapi's half empty bottle of beer and drowning the remains. He exhaled loudly before jumping up and down to the sound of Weeeek's upbeat chorus. The other two joined him, hands reaching out to encircle around shoulders, silly grins pasted on their faces that they just couldn't get rid of.
And the laughter. Laughter that was loud and rich and alive. Their laughter bounced off walls as the ending strains of the song played on the television. Ryo re-enacted his ending dance, rolling his shoulders around and staring at the ceiling. Jin shrieked in his laughter - although that might've been half because someone's hand drifted against his collarbone - but Yamapi's arm wrapped around his waist and he was leaning into Jin - asking for balance, but Jin couldn't give it to him. Jin tumbled forward, his palms flat on Ryo's chest, trying to gain some bit of balance from that - but he should've expected better as the momentum landed them half on the couch, half on the floor - Jin on top of Ryo, his hands still on Ryo's chest and Yamapi flush against his back.
Jin laughed - eyes bright, cheeks flushed, and hair splayed across his forehead - and after Ryo got over his initial shock and swatting Jin on the head (even getting Yamapi's head in the process), he laughed too, catching Yamapi's eyes.
"Isn't this a better way to spend Christmas?" Jin asked, grinning down at Ryo.
Ryo sneered, "I thought our way was plenty good."
"You're just being contrary," Jin argued.
"When it comes to you, yes."
Yamapi laughed, "Okay, Jin, we get the point. You can put that tree somewhere more open." Jin shrieked happily, Ryo flinching at the sound, his arms wrapping tightly around Ryo's.
"Fatty, get off me! I can't have you and Mr. Muscle over there both on top of me," Ryo complained. Jin only snuggled into Ryo's arms, and when Ryo caught Yamapi's eyes, Yamapi could only shrug helplessly. "Oh fine. But only for a few more minutes and if neither of you talk about this ever again."
All Jin and Yamapi did was laugh, but it was good enough.
